Josh and I had very clear wishes for our wedding day - a celebration of our love with family and friends, complete with great food and an awesome party - and that is exactly what we got!
The very next day after Josh proposed, he presented me with our wedding binder. It was a true testament to his involvement in each and every stage of the wedding planning. The result was a day that truly reflected both of us; our passions, our creativity, and our love for each other. The day was made more special by having vendors we trusted endlessly. After being so involved in the planning, it was amazing to be able to sit back, take in the day and trust our team to handle it all.
We made so many special memories on our wedding day: both of us crying as we read letters to each other (and again when we saw each other for the first time, watching our guests have a blast with the lawn games, dancing among bubbles to close off the dance floor - each moment had something uniquely sentimental that we will cherish for a long time to come.
After endless saving, a little borrowing and the generosity of our parents, we were able to spend a 7 day honeymoon in Mauritius. It was so magical and romantic. After a long and challenging year, it was wonderful to have the opportunity to it back, relax and celebrate our love together. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through Grand Baie and Port Louis - taking in the local atmosphere and hunting down some good bargains.
The best part of all - we no longer had a wedding dress and suit to worry about fitting into so we could eat to our heart's content! Josh made sure to take one of everything, every night from the dessert buffet, and we were spoilt for choice with the endless combinations of seafoods, curries, sushi, pasta, pizza and much more. I think we both left Mauritius about 5kg heavier than when we first arrived but it was SO worth it.
