Well, the most memorable moment I think for myself, my now husband and all my guests was me running.. Yes, running down the aisle to my man instead of taking a stroll and taking things in! When I saw my husband to be at the end of the aisle waiting for me I just couldn't help it..
What I really loved about our wedding was that everything was so relaxed. There was no need to stress as our venue along with our caterers we're impeccable with their timing and made everyone feel at home!
And of course, ending off the day with the most beautiful lighting for the incredible photo's our photographer (Lauren Setterberg) captured. Magic!
We went on honeymoon to Springbok lodge in Nambiti. Well, what can I say! We were taken care of and pampered in style the minute we walked through the door! Amazing staff, beautiful scenery and best of all.. Finding all of God's incredible creatures on the morning and afternoon game drives!
For my wedding I was looking for romance.. And boy did I get it! I found my dress at VIP brides in the "pre-loved" section and made it my own. VIP brides has an amazing seamstriss who listens to exactly what you're wanting your dress to look like. My hair was done by Catia based in the hillcrest area.. What a star!
My make up was done by my friends sister who has just started reaching out to clients! She was such a gem!
We got married at Shalwyn wedding venue and conference centre in camperdown. What can I say? They have everything there! The decorations and lighting in the hall and in the chapel are all included in your venue hire fee, the staff are amazing and so professional, and there is such a variety that is avaliable to you in regards to how you want your wedding to be! The venue has a chapel along with an open forest area where you can have a forest ceremony in amoungst nature. Shalwyn has their own caterers - Hamblins, who are well organized and very peofessional and want to suit your every want and need for your special day!
I mostly did my own exercise plan at home and drank loads and loads of water! I got my eye lashes done at pink petals in kloof. WOW! If you know you're going to cry.. Get some false eye lashes! Not only do they make you look and feel like a celebrity, they also help keep your make up in place!
All the decor and flowers were provided by Shalwyn's florist: Pati Hein and the extra decor for the tables were provided by Hamblins. They have everything a bride could possibly dream of for her big day!
The groom and groomsmen wore grey suits from Beiport outfitters in Westville. The suits were rented and tailored for all the men to look super fab on the day! They wore purple ties rented from Debonairs suit hire (as Beiport didn't have the purple we were looking for). They lookes absolutely smashing!
My bridesmaids wore lacey purple dresses which were short in the front and long in the back. We got the dresses from.. Wait for it.. China mall! Yes ladies, you don't have to pay a fortune to look good!
Our marriage office was our pastor, Robert Fick from Vision church in Gillitts. He lead the ceremony with ease and kept things flowing!
We had the very talented Lauren Setterberg photograph our day. She was absolutely incredible! There were moments captured that are so breathtaking as well as so full of fun and laughter! She captured every minute and every moment of the day with ease and what a joy she was to have around!
We planned our wedding on our own for the most part. Shalwyn and Hamblins catering did play a big role in organizing the timing of the day and keeping everyone where they were supposed to be during the wedding.
My mom drove my two bridesmaids and myself to the venue to get ready on the morning at Shalwyn.
The very talented Jess Bayman made our wedding cake. She made a semi- naked lilac drip chocolate cake (all gluten free as my husband is allergic to gluten).
Hamblins provided us with all the amazing food for the day!
My husbands aunt made our save the dates and invites herself as a wedding gift. We made and printed out our own table numbers and seating plans.
My boss, as a wedding gift, provided us with her very talented DJ/singer brother (Toni di Pailo) for our wedding day.
We tried to do dance lessons but in the end we did our own thing and danced how we felt comfortable doing!
