We are a unconventional couple that decided to have a non traditional wedding. We wanted to celebrate this special day with with our friends and family. It was a celebration. We decided to take only our favourite parts of weddings; the food, music, drinks and time with loved ones and we really only focused on that . We had a hotel take-over wedding on a roof top above a casino in the heart of Pretoria.
The day before we checked into the hotel and relaxed by the roof top pool. The day of the wedding, we were all relaxed, no stress and no drama, some swimming in between getting ready. We are so blessed with incredible friends and family and everyone jumped in to make our dream wedding possible.
There was no seating plan and non of the usual traditions. We had a short ceremony next to the bar on the roof top, everyone had some pop-corn and drinks before settling in.
a Big highlight was the incredible food (if I may say so myself) and the party. We played musical chairs to start of the night and it was one of the funniest things I've seen. Everyone got really involved.
a Few weeks before the wedding we were watching Chef's Table and Someone Feed Phil on Netflix. It so happened to be 2 episodes of Italy.
We immediately new where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do.
We wanted good food and we want to travel and see the world instead of being 'hotel locked' on an island.
Jarred is a big foodie and that is one of the things I love most about him. Our favourite thing is to share and experience good food.
Jarred planned an amazing adventure through Italy for us.
From the unusual tourist spots to the most touristy spots, we feel like we really experienced Italy. We loved every second.
Started in Modena, Florance, Parma and then drove to Lake Garda and from there to Venice.
My dress was made by my varsity lecturer, she was my favourite lecturer back then and when she heard I was getting married she offered to make my dress.
It was really special to have someone you respect and learned from to be involved on this special day.
She is a lecturer at Lisof in Pretoria and I would recommend her to anyone!
Dress: Annelize Scheepers couture design
Also my mother in law offered to help buy my dress for me as my mother was not very involved.
She has really become my 'other mother' and I am so lucky to have such a loving, strong, supportive mom in my life.
Lingerie... ;) My bridesmaids planned to most incredible bachelorettes and kitchen tea. I got some really beautiful lingerie from Bra's n Things and Woolworths.
Shoes and jewelry was a gift from Jarred's dad's girlfriend. Shoes from Call it Spring and jewelery from Swarovski
We have a big family and it is amazing to see how everyone gets along and really cares about each other.
Makeup was done by Donique Flawless makeup - She honestly is incredible!
Hair was done by Shannah Livingstone
We got married at Altitude Champagne Garden, Menlyn Maine.
Roof top lounge.
Everyone stayed over at the Maslow Hotel Time Sqr
Health and fitness is really important to me.
I started with my diet. I got a personalized health supplement made for me by TAILORBLEND.
They custom make powdered health blends/supplement according to what your body needs.
I trained with a great personal trainer: DOMS Fitness at Virgin Active Bryanston.
I used Nucleoskin facial products.
And of course spa treatments for me and the bridesmaids at Africology Spa.
This Venue was already so beautiful, that we didn't have to do much.
We also felt that we don't want to spend too much money on one night and on things that people don't remember.
We had LOTS of fairy lights from Cafe Fleur
Big white balloons from Bryan Park shopping Center
And beautiful decor from Lucky Bread

The groom had a beautiful suit made by Tailor Me SA
All the groomsmen had their suits fitted there as well.
All the bridesmaid could choose their own black dress.
We definitely had the best marriage officer.
He was funny and really captured our relationship.
Rev. Stephen van Basten
