Everything about our special day was memorable. Family + friends who travelled from far, our venue - it was everything I’d wanted and more and it all came together so beautifully. My handsome groom - standing at the end of the aisle, I couldn’t wait to be standing there alongside him. Our wedding day was undoubtedly the best day of our lives thus far!
YES! We enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Seychelles with some of our closest friends.
I wanted my wedding look to be a reflection of myself, classic and elegant yet simple and down to earth.
My Dress: The dress of my dreams came from Lorette Bridal in Port Elizabeth. It comprised a Fitted top with beaded detail and a flowing skirt with a lace trim.
Make-Up: My make up was done by Judy Hulley.
Hair: My hair was done bu Andre Mahn or Reflect Hair in Port Alfred.
I got married at the ever-gorgeous, characterfilled James Ford Hall in Kasouga. Guests who stayed the night rented from a wide selection of self catering accommodation - all within walking distance to the Venue.
I didn’t really have much of a regime as such other than healthy eating and the occasional visit to my beautician before hand. I guess it’s a bonus when your best friend has her own beauty salon!
Sam Roberts at Meridian Spa in Port Alfred took care of all my pre-wedding beauty needs.
The James Ford Hall has a rustic ambiance, constructed with wood and iron it boasts high ceilings and undeniable character. To this we wanted to bring romance, elegance and class. Bare wooden tables, Perspex ghost chairs with a rounded back, oil burner chandeliers, truck loads of greenery, tall white candles and what seemed like an endless supply of fairy lights.
We kept it personal, memorable places as opposed to table numbers and a bar named after the grooms favorite fishing spot. The night was ours and we wanted it to be a celebration of ourselves and our union.
Decor Hire: Floral Creations and Hire Warehouse Port Elizabeth. Amazing people! We got most of our decor from them - tables, chandeliers, centerpieces and underplates, you name it they have it!
Flowers: My dad’s cousin, Diane Horne, made my floral dreams a reality!
My dashing groom wore a suit which we bought from TM Lewin in Port Elizabeth. This was tailored to perfection.
The groomsman wore navy chino’s from Woolworth’s, a white collared shirt with bow ties and suspenders from Birch’s Man. Brown shoes and a pair of fun socks completed their look.
Our bridesmaid dresses were made to Size at Hoiden In Port Elizabeth. Burgundy was the color of choice and each of my lovely ladies had the opportunity to choose a style which best suited their needs.
Our Marriage counselor was Isabeau Human - from Port Alfred. A truly exceptional human being who made our wedding experience just that much more special.
The magician behind the lens was Andrew Elliot - an all round wonderful human being who makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
I wanted to be involved in the coordination process of my wedding and loved every minute of my pre-wedding planning and coordination with my mom, aunts, friends, my mother-in-law and even my grandparents.
Naartjie and Cheryl Moss of Grahamstown took care of the catering and coordination of my big day. The best in the business!
Our gorgeous cake was made my House of Bakes in Port Elizabeth - I highly recommend their services for absolute deliciousness!!!
I took care of my own stationary design and it was printed at Goshawk in Port Alfred.
Our reception was incredible. From our entrance as newly weds to cutting the cake, our first dance, the speeches and the midnight snacks. We went for the odd dance lesson when we managed to find time, but otherwise winged our very first dance as Mr & Mrs. Our music - a great mix of golden oldies, country classics and modern beats, was taken care of by family friends Zanne and Craig.
