On 20 October 2018, Liaan and I promised that we'd love and respect each other in abundance forever.
We decided to get married under the white wooden chapel at Groenrivier farm in Riebeek West in the Western Cape.
The farm is situated just outside Riebeek Kasteel between the mountains with beautiful horses surrounding the entrance.
The ceremony was very intimate and emotional. It felt like a scene from a romantic movie. Everything was perfect.
Both of us believe in the power of simplicity and that less really is more. Therefore the decor for our wedding was truly based on this. With blooming white orchid plants and gold dinner candles in crystal candelabras covering all the guest tables, it really looked so elegant. Fairy lights rained from the white wooden ceiling which really contributed to the romantic atmosphere.
We had an amazing time celebrating with our closest family and friends and will cherish the memories forever.
I'm so grateful for the most amazing day!
Together we look forward to the adventures that our marriage has to offer!
Yes we did and it was amazing! We travelled the whole of Bali and visited many interesting islands.
Our wedding's look & feel was based off the true saying: "less is more" with the dress code being black tie.
We love everything that's simple, but elegant and this is exactly what our wedding reflected.
As part of the decor, we used only white potted orchids and lots of greenery floral which covered the guest tables and bridal table. These elements were also repeated at the chapel where the ceremony was held. We had gold dinner candles in crystal candelabras which made such a elegant statement inside the reception area. With the fairy lights raining from the ceiling, it looked like a sparkling night.
My make up and hair was simple, but stylish. For my make up I had golden finish with a semi-smokey eye look. My hair was curled into a hollywood inspired wave. For jewellery I wore a sparkling bracelet on my left arm with fine teardrop crystals earrings both from Swarovski. My shoes (from Aldo) fitted perfectly with the theme and was so comfortable!
My dress was a original Enzoani design which bought from The Wedding Boutique in Cape Town.

Our studios based in Cape Town and Johannesburg are fresh, vibrant and above all modern.
We got married at Groenrivier farm in Riebeek West.
Most of the guests stayed in guest houses in and around Riebeek Kasteel. Family stayed on the venue.
I didn't went overboard with many beauty prep leading up to the wedding as I wanted to look as natural as possible, which was really important to me.
I lead a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis and therefore just kept maintaining my health and fitness. I eat healthy during the weekdays and exercise on a regular basis, but still enjoy myself over the weekends. Life's too short!
With regards to beauty, I did not go for any "funny" treatments leading up to the wedding. I simply had my eyebrows and hair tinted and also had my nails done. I will however recommend a spa treatment a few days before your wedding as this helps to really unwind you from all stress before the big day!
The groom wore a tailored black suit from Romens. Our dress code was black tie, so the groom and all 6 groomsmen wore black suits with black bow ties. This really made a big statement and looked so classy!

I had 4 bridesmaids. I decided on their look to also be glamorous and elegant seeing that bridesmaids and groomsmen becomes a big part of your photos and can really make a big statement. I believe they can really carry the theme of your wedding.
All my bridesmaids were dressed in long black strapless dresses. The dress had an elegant silk bow in the front, which tied in nicely with our theme. Their hair were styled in a slick low bun. Make up was based off the same look as mine, but not as intense.
We bought all of their dresses at YDE.
We only had a photographer, and she was absolutely fab! Adele captured all the beautiful moments so perfectly and really made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera.

We did all wedding planning by ourselves. From start to finish. We started planning 12 months in advance, which gave us more that enough time. We created a very detailed time schedule of the wedding day and events and sent them to each supplier so that everyone knew when to be where. This also saved us a ton of money which we rather spent on our honeymoon!
The food was out of this world! We still receive compliments from our guests about how delicious the food was.
We served floating canapes as part of the starters.
For mains, slow cooked lamb shank was served with roasted veg and mash.
For dessert we served our three tier cake and floating ice creams, which was a great hit!

For our stationary we knew exactly what we wanted from the start so this was a easy part of the planning. We only did ceremony programs, name cards and a seating chart.
Once again, we were aiming for the elegant but simplistic look & feel and I must say the stationary came out so nicely!

We had so much fun at the reception and nearly danced all night with our guests!
We took 1 dance lesson 2 weeks prior to the wedding which I was so grateful for at the end. Although we didn't have a choreographed dance, it can still be stressful when all eyes are on you.
Our DJ did our sound and lighting and he was great!
