The morning of our wedding day it started raining. A bride's worst nightmare came true. Regardless to the rain the clouds opened after the ceremony and the most beautiful photo's where captured. The sun shined through the clouds and our wedding day turned out to be the most magical day ever.
We spent our first five days at St Michaels Sands Hotel and Resort in Shelly Beach, KZN. Our last two days we spent at Wild Coast Sun Resort and Casino.
My wedding look was very natural to blend in with the lace on my dress. My hair was done by Liezl @ Butterfly Beauty in Kroonstad. My makeup and nails was done by Charlotte @ Scarlet G Beauty in Kroonstad. My wedding dress was hired @ Maryna's Bridal Shop in Bloemfontein. My wedding dress focus point was the lace and its long train. My shoes was n nude/blush colour with silver stones. My jewellery was silver with fine detailed stones.
We got married at AP Kerk in Kroonstad where my husband's father led the ceremony. Our family and friends who travelled far were able to stay over night at the church grounds. There are more than 20 rooms available for people to overnight. Other family and friends were able to book into Guesthouses where I provided a list of the best guesthouses in Kroonstad.
Twelve months before the wedding a signed up at the gym @Training Edge in Bloemfontein were I received personal training from Bernice de Koker. I trained to get my body in shape for the wedding and to feel good at the honeymoon. I also received some sunbed treatments to give my skin a bit more colour. The week before the wedding I went to get my eyebrows shaped and I received a Medi and Pedi @Scarlet G Beauty. I ate healthy and I enjoyed feeling good about myself.
We used a natural white wedding with rustic features. We added succulents and leave branches for greenery and for something special we added paper folded flowers with big candles. Our under plates was a rustic bronze colour. For the napkin holder we used a leather string. We only used white roses and white gyp flowers for the bride and groom table, with a rustic lantern on the corner of the table. The table runner was a white and silver type of lace that blended in with the white table tablecloth. The venue was fully draped with fairy lights, I asked for a fairytale themed venue and that is what I got. The wedding thank you gifts was done by myself. I was blessed with al the detail of the decor.
The groomsmen wore chinos with white long sleeve shirts with brown shoes and a belt. We added brown suspenders and bow ties to match with the belt.
The groom wore a navy suite with a white long sleeve shirt. He also wore genuine leather suspenders and a leather tie. His shoes and belt was a dark brown colour.
Each groomsmen and the groom received a pair of Crazy Socks as a thank you gift which they had to wear for the photos. They also received a shoulder bouquet that was hand made.
The bridesmaids wore a two piece dress. The look was very bohemian. The long skirt was green to match with the leaf branches on the table decor. And the shirts was white to match with the colour of the wedding. The shirts were tucked in at skirt.
The bridesmaid choose their own colour of shoes that would match with the green and white.
Each bridesmaid did not have a normal bouquet. Their bouquet's were wooden words such as "Faith", "Love" and "Hope" with a piece of lace and ribbon that was tied onto the word.
Our marriage officer was my husbands father, Ds Herman Kok from the APKerk Kroonstad.
We used Deodet de Coning Photography as our photographer.
She is a very talented young lady who made you feel special through out the whole day. The photographer spent the entire day with me and bridesmaids and with the groom and his groomsmen.
She captured every single detail on our wedding day. The most beautiful moments were captured by her.
I did not have a planner. I planned my whole wedding with help from the groom and my family.
Our transport was the most fun part of the getting ready part. We organized a 1931 Cryzler as our wedding transport. The owner of the vehicle was private.
Our food was prepared by a few women from the church we used. We served traditional "Boerekos".
The wedding cake was also made privately.
Our wedding invitation was designed by myself. I used a online design site named Wix Wedding Site. Our Save the date was also designed on the site and sent out via email.
The groom and me are natural dancers. We did not take dance lessons. Our lighting was done by a local man who draped the venue with white fairy lights. Our DJ was Steven Mc Gowan from DJD Promotions Sound and Lightning specialist.
We enjoyed the music that he prepared for the wedding.
