Where do you begin to share all the highlights and special moments of your most precious day. Our day started with the most beautiful morning which develop to the most beautiful day. Highlights of the day includes me walking down the aisle on the side of my father, who is the person I admire the most. Him handing me over to the love of my life was so special and emotional. My bridesmaids dresses were specially made by my mother, that made it extra special. At the reception we opened the dance floor with a song that sums up our vows, to keep faith, hope and love in our marriage. Our wedding cake where made by my sister. Having my mother and sister actively part of all the planning was so special to share every moment with them. But what I remember as the most memorable moment was when me and my husband left the reception as Mr. and Mrs. Rabie. My dream came true! I married my best friend!
We went on a Garden Route tour. Firstly, as we got married in Vlees Bay, we spent our first night as newlyweds in Mossel Bay. Then we spent the two following nights in George, where we drove through the most admirable passes. Then my favorite part of the honeymoon started. We went to Knysna and Plettenberg Bay for the next 4 days. We had the best time there. We went on a canopy tour and walking with elephants of the Knysna Forrest. It was the most memorable moments of our honeymoon.
I tried to have a natural beauty on our wedding day. The classic smokey eye and fashionable up style with a braid. My wedding dress was imported from Paris, France. My dress had a champagne undertone. It had lace work on and lots and lots of thule. With my shoes I went for comfy, stylish shoes. The lingerie I wore on our wedding day also were made of lace. Jewellery I wore - earrings were something new and my pearl bracelet I borrowed from my mother in law. As she only have boys, it were truly special to made her part of the wedding party by borrowing her bracelet, as well as her garter.
We got married at Excelsior Wedding and Functions. It have a jaw dropping view of Vlees Bay were most of our guest stayed the night. Most of our guests fell in love with this jewel of a small town.
My husband and I are keen cyclists. We took a morning ride next to the beach, as we were on holiday before our wedding. I am lucky enough to not have problem skin. My skin routine includes lots and lots of water and to not overload my skin with to much make-up. As it was December holidays I spent my time naturally tanning and secure a pre-wedding glow.
The decor for our wedding can simply be described as rustic combined with elegance. Our colour scheme was burgundy, gold and greens. Flowers included roses, proteas, tulips, calla lily's and peonies. The furniture were part of the venue as well as the lighting. Most of the elements I wanted to rent were not available so mostly me, my family and husband made most of the elements, which includes the numbering of the tables, wooden features and our wooden box for wedding presents.
My amazing husband wore a navy suit, white shirt, charcoal and champagne tie and brown shoes. His groomsmen wore white shirts with chino's and the same tie's as the groom. They found their suits and accessories in various stores, which includes Polo and Woolworths.
I completely fell in love with a photo of bridesmaid in burgundy dresses. This is how I decided on the colour scheme of our wedding. My bridesmaids wore burgundy, infinity dresses, which were made by my mother. They all had a braid somewhere in their hair and all three of them wore the same earrings. The earrings was a gift of appreciation from me the bride. They looked so beautiful!

When I decided to use Herman Pieters as our wedding photographer it was the best decision I could have made. He captured all the details of our special day without being all over the place. It was so easy working with him as he led us in making the most amazing photos. We also made use of a photo booth which secured that our guests were entertained during our shoot. They had lots of fun and took a piece of our wedding home.
At our venue we had the option to use the planner, Pam Fivaz. She took a lot of stress of me and helped me with everything. From making the food to decorating the venue. Definite plus point for this venue!
As my husband and I are people that appreciate the older things in live we decided to hire a Chevrolet Master 1941 model. This secured that our wedding had an edge.
The food of the wedding were made by the wedding coordinator herself. It was absolutely delicious! Our wedding cake were baked by my sister, Anneldi van Niekerk. Such a special present from her.
As we live in a world of technology we decided to save paper and went electronic by letting Cloudnest Designs design us a wedding website.
Me and my husband believe in date nights where we cook together, dance around the dining room table and drink Cab. Our lighting and sound were done by Just for you. This is an excellent, local DJ with lots of talent.
