Our wedding day was more perfect than I could have ever imagined, because it was not perfect. There were bloopers, mistakes made, things forgotten, and it all worked together to make our wedding day most memorable. Our pastor was late (my husband almost asked my sister-in-law, who is also a pastor, to stand in). After walking down the isle, I greeted my fiance/husband with a kiss, as we normally greet, and our pastor joked and said, "I now pronounce you man and wife"! Some of our decor items weren't placed out, but the venue still looked pinterest beautiful. The speeches made were heartfelt and real. When we think back on our wedding day, we remeber that every moment was precious, that the venue and decor was perfect, and we were so grateful for our family and friends who came from far and wide to spend our special day with us.
We had to put off our honeymoon for a year because just before our wedding, my husband got a job offer in New Zealand, requiring us to relocate after our wedding. So a year after our wedding day, we went to Fiji for our honeymoon, yay! They had lovely beaches, friendly people, and delicious food in Fiji. We certainly want to go back there again!
My wedding look that I was going for was vintage. My dress was a trumpet lace dress that I bought from Dreamdress Wedding Boutique in Montana park. My shoes and lingerie I bought from Woolworths. The jewellery that I wore I was a pearl necklace and earrings set I received for my 21st birthday (a family tradition). My accessories, which includes a hair comb and garter, I got from Little Lace in Pretoria. For my hair I wanted a braid, but also wanted my hair to be loose and curled, and my amazing hairdresser, Carla from The Beehive Hair Design, accomplished the look. My makeup was done by my sister, and wow, did she do a fantastic job! She was so patient with me and my pickyness, my makeup looked so natural, paired with vintage lashes, and it stayed flawless the entire day.
We got married at Bell Amour in Pretoria, it's such a beautiful venue! It was love at first sight!
My decor incorporated wood, eucalyptus leaves, rose succulents, glass jars covered in piano sheet music filled with simple white flowers, candles in metal holders, and blue and green banner flags around the dancefloor. The wedding venue provided all of the furniture and some of the decor used. Most of the decor items me and my husband made ourselves, and the banner flags we borrowed from friends who made them for their wedding.
The groom and groomsmen wore dark grey suits and vests bought from Coqui's
My bridesmaids wore duck egg blue infinity dresses.

Our marriage officer was JT Terblanche from Doxa Deo Brooklyn. He had a wonderful sermon and we are so grateful that he was part of our special day.
Our photographer was Margaux Cronje photography. She made us feel so at ease and took the most beautiful photos!
Nope ;) My husband and I planned everything ourselves.
Our venue, Bell Amour, made the food, which was all included in the per head price. It was delicious, I truly believe that our wedding's food was the best of all our friends and family's weddings. Our wedding cupcakes were made by Biani at Fabiolas Cakery, and were also a big hit with our guests.
Our reception was great. We had moving speeches, amazing food, and then we headed to the dancefloor set over a swimmingpool to do our opening dance. Charl at Fame Productions did our sound and music. We took dance lessons at Strictly Ballroom Dance centre.
