We started writing our story back in 2008.
I was Gr10 and he Gr11. He says he had his eye on me for a while by then already, but he had my full attention when he smiled at school and all i saw were his gorgous DIMPLES!
Off feet right then and there.
He always asked for permission from my parents to come and visit me on the farm.
So naturally he was always welcome, and my brothers were too happy for someone to go hunting with them.
Sometimes i wondered if he came to visit me or my siblings... :/ haha
He was involved in a farm attack on Nov 24th and came back from Mozambique the following day. I was(am) so thankfull that he wasn't injured during everything. That Saturday we went to the movies and watched Vir die voëls. Irma Himpel and Sampie are co-writers of our Chapter 1. Afterwards we went to White River for dinner and to celebrate our 8th year together. Obviously in true Tasja-form, I ordered an Eishbein - ja.
Finally after I had finished I received three very beautiful shiny rocks from my main penguin ♡
Having everyone there in itself is already a highlight.
The speeches makes you realise all over again that we are so blessed with the people in our lives.

My uncle and his family came all the way from America. We last saw them 13years ago!
He gave a speech about our father who isn't with us anymore. There were only a few dry eyes, but the rest were all tears of joy and appreciation.
We were very fortunate to have our honeymoon be a wedding gift.
We went to Umhlanga for a week and as we came back we went to White Elephant in the Pongola Reserve.
I am not at all a bride who wanted glitter and diamonds on my dress.
I had an ivory dress with alot of detail in the back. I had my hair up to show this. My make-up had some gold in it, i have dark brown eyes, so this was an easy colour to go with. My sister and I went to the mall, went to a few shoe stores, but no luck. She then said she saw beautiful shoes at Cotton On -found them!
I had no other jewellery, and then also forgot to get earrings! My brother came to the rescue. Two hours before my wedding he came with a pair.
I am a get up and go type of person. So the day before my wedding I sent the make-up artist a photo of what I wanted, so the wedding day was trail/final make-up. Very talented artist!
Same goes for my hair. All happened on the day.

I promised myself that I would go running etc., never happened.
I tried to eat healthy, but that too failed.
The stress gets to you, so that made me lose some weight, but not to worry, I had Melktert for breakfast on our honeymoon.
I got a Brilliant White as a gift from my sister, so that I used.
Then there are just the basics, mani and pedi from Gary Rom in Nelspruit.
Belinda from Hair by Belinda did a colour shampoo, and that is it.
Whispering Thorns provided all the decor.
Carmen also did all our flowers.
She is an absolute artist!
They all looked very handsome in rented suits from Black Tie in Pretoria. Navy and brown. Always a good combination.
My girls all looked so beautiful in their Hoiden dresses. They were soft beige/peach.

She stayed even after her quoted time was up, just to make sure I had photos with everyone and accommodated me at every turn. So thankful for her. She is an absolute pro. She took beautiful photos and even drove my wedding car (thats another story!)
Carmen from Whispering Thorns did most of the work from the venue/caterer's side.
Also a huge huge thank you to my angel of a twin sister Tanja. If it were not for her, I probably would not have gotten married the way I did. She was amazing. Helped me where and when she could. Love you!
I didn't want a wedding car, it was about 150m from where we got ready to the chapel. But I was a few minutes late and running in heels in the lowveld is not on any bride's wish list. That's were Marné came in.
We were 7 (including her) in her Corolla. Best build up to an exciting day. We laughed so much!
The venue provided a mouth-watering menu for us. Snacks and a three-course meal.
Everyone said the food was so good that they wanted to take some home with them.

We had a DJ, Damian Lopes. He didn't have much to work with from my side and was to a large extent left to his own devices. Thankfully I have an awesome sister who jumped in. My talented brothers also surprised us, Hanru sang and Ruben played on his guitar.
We did not have any lessons or danced once before the wedding, we last danced montgs before. I was also much taller due to the shoes and that played some part. But hey, all ended well and we had a great night. So much so, that at some point we danced to every song. One of my brothers and I sokkie-d to Despacito!
