After having my heart broken by many frogs, I was starting to give up when I met my husband at my best friends 21st, I will never forget that day as he made me laugh by saying he had such pretty eyes and big muscles... ever since then we have been living happily beside one another going through all the bad and good times together.we got engaged and set out on a beautiful winter wonderland wedding, but as life would have it there were struggles when my fiance got retrenched in February 2017 (7 months before the wedding),but as a couple we never gave up despite having people tell us we should cancel or that this wedding was not going to happen. 16 th of September 2017 we got married and we proved that as a couple we believe in each other and will fight and strive to make sure no one breaks us apart or breaks our faith in the Lord!
We unfortuntaley could not go on honeymoon, but we are planning to go to New Zealand in September 2018
The planning of my hair, make up and dress fell apart as my dress maker did not complete the dress and my make up artist cancelled on me 3 days before. I went 3 days before to find a wedding dress and I thought I would never manage but 8 dresses later I found one that fitted so perfectly it did not need any altering. Once everything came together I looked amazing and was excited to get down that aisle to my husband
We got married at Makiti Wedding Venue in krugersdorp. Alot of our guests stayed over and had breakfast with us the next morning. The venue is beautiful, it has wildlife and scenery to dream of.
Being a bride can be stressful with all the planningand sometimes a pamper day is in order, well for me that would include having my nails done, making sure my extension and color was perfect as well as losing a bit of weight. I slept by my mom the night before as we had the last minute things to pack and once we were done, we all sat and relaxed while feeling the excitement for the next day
We had a winter wonderland wedding. We had the white trees, fake snow, snowflakes etc... everything looked amazing. Our flowers were blue, pink, white and purple and went well with the bridesmaids dresses as well as mine. I did not regret anything and loved every minute of the big day
The groomsmen wore navy blue suits with pink ties and pink socks and brown shoes with the laces. They bought their suits from oriental city. They all looked so charming but I must say my husband surprised me as he cleaned up so nicely and looked really gorgeous.
I had the most amazing bridesmaids by my side, not only were they pretty but they are strong in every way. They could choose their dresses and they chose dusty pink with a glitter bodice from peaches and spice except for my sister in law, she chose a dress from wedding connexion. Their flowers were blue and white roses with silver ribbon. They all looked so pretty!
Joggie labuschagne from basic ministries. He is an amazing person and everyone commented on the sermon and ceremony he gave. Even though he was sick he never gave up. He had built us up from day one and inspired us in so many ways to never leave one another's side and always walk in the faith of the Lord together.
Van Bouwer took out photos. Highly recommended as they do quality photos. They have your best interests at heart and capture those special moments that you don't notice.
Her name was Ananda and she was by my side through all the planning aswell as on the night of the wedding. She made sure there was no problems, she got me food and made sure I had enough to eat and she looked after me and the groom. She never let me down and always made sure I was 100% happy.
Food was supplied by the chef at the venue and we had cup cakes. While we were busy with photos the guests had cup cakes and pre-drinks. The food was a buffet and it was so nice that people went back for 2nds and 3rds.
My mom did all my decor. She did my invitations, the glass beads to go on the white trees, she did the thank you gifts, she did the welcoming gifts and the seating plan of the guests. My mom was a huge support and played a big part in making this day happen, my stepdad helped her and guided me on certain decisions.Without them I wouldn't have had what I had and I am grateful to them.
The dj was the husband of the wedding co-ordinator, he was awesome and made sure the dance floor was never empty. We took dance lessons 2 weeks before the wedding as my husband has 2 left feet but to my surprise he did well and we bonded closely together. We are looking to make this a hobby now for us as a couple to never lose the spark and always make time for one another.
