Back in 2011 when we met, on Facebook through a family friend. In 2015 he paid for lobola and in February 2017 he sent me an email asking me to marry him, of course I agreed thinking he was just kidding....fast forward September we got hitched. On the day, so much of dancing, jokes and fun. I felt like a queen when I entered the hotel. My husband made everyone cry because he was in tears most of the time.
Not really, makoti duties at my husband's home. Hahahaha
I wore a beautiful white gown with diamonds on top. I wanted something that will not show my arm so the dress had a chiffon and diamond look with long sleeves. My hair was done by Thoko from Diva Salon, she showed me what she had done with other brides and I chose what I liked. I had a side curly bun with white pearly pins and my long white veil of course. My make-up was done Sandy who is a make-up artist. I asked for a simple look but highlight my good looks than hide my worse looks. Lips were subtle red lipstick. My husband bought me white lingerie and I wore takkies because I wanted to be comfortable. I had diamond and pearls earrings and no other accessory except for my ring of course
We got married at LaVita Hotel, North Beach. Everybody arrived on the day of the wedding. There was no overnight stay.
I was strict on steaming my face and drinking plenty of water. I used bicarbonate of soda for my teeth to make them white, no spa treatment. As plenty of toning and staying away from the sun.
My decor was peach, touch of mint and gold. The table cloths were cream, gold napkins, gold underplates, white and peach fresh flowers, and gorgeous centre pieces, cream chair covers. No tent as the wedding was inside the hotel. The matrimonial was in the pool area with white umbrellas. It was cold and the rain was pouring. There were white king and queen chairs
My husband bought his dark navy suit at Zara and his groomsmen wore navy suits which they bought from markhams (2days before the wedding because of hiring complications). Their ties, happy socks and pocket flowers were bought somewhere in west street durban. My husband's waistcoat was hired at westwalk. Shoes bought at Fratelli. Groomsmen bought theirs from different shops.
My bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous. They wore peach duchees knee high dress with gold sandals. They had big curls with highlights as their hairstyles. We were all going through magazines and we loved the big hair look with the dresses
Pastor Mbhalo from the Methodist church was our marriage councillor, our marriage officer and he was very helpful
I took one of my neighbours as my photographer because I knew he was good. Ojo Classica was very professional. He listened to our needs and everything worked out perfectly.
I did everything by myself or with my husband. There was no wedding planner but I had some knowledge on what to do as I've been a maid of honor before
We had 6cars. A white audi which I used with my maid of honour and my mother. My bridesmaids used a golf 6 and an i35 Hyundai. The rest of my family used a Polo, Renault and a twin cab.
My delicious cake was made by a lady by the name of Masooda. It had 5 tiers in peach and gold with a touch of mint edible roses. The food was prepared by the hotel but we finger lunch was done by fingerlicious co. They prepared freshly made samoosas, springrolls, mini pies and wings
We were going around asking for prices and we found this little place at west walk durban where we found a guy who made programs for us and these photo stickers for wines to say thank you to our guests. Only took one day for them to make them. For our wedding invites, we just ordered paper and ribbons in mint n peach and wala, we had wedding invites. I googled the design and did everything else on my own
Luckily my MC is a DJ so he provided the sound and music for us. We rehearsed a month before for the dance routine. We had so much fun
