On 12 September 2017, a beautifully-mild day in Cape Town, Nicky & Clint tied the knot in Noordhoek, Cape Town at the magical Cape Point Vineyards. With family arriving from far and wide, Nicky & Clint celebrated their traditional Jewish Orthodox wedding with style and pizzaz. With laughter, (happy) tears, warmth and love, it is a day never to be forgotten, where memories were made and the magic of true love was celebrated.
It is always beautiful when two people fall in love and begin to share their lives together. But when two soul mates find each other, this elevates the meaning of love to its true definition.
The Hebrew word for love, 'ahavah', also reveals this true definition of love, for the word ahavah is built upon the root consonants h‑v, which means 'to give'. In order for love to be real love, it has to be expressed as an action. If you love your beloved, then you must show it. By the same token, if you are loved, that will show too. You will recognise it by the way you are treated.
This truly epitomises the love that we share and the way we look forward to spending the rest of our lives together. We have both waited a long time to find each other but are definitely happy that we waited and love sharing every second together.
Nicky did not know when the proposal would happen but Clint had a special surprise up his sleeve. The plan was to go away for Nicky’s birthday and pop the question on the Saturday night.
All the arrangements were carefully made over weeks of secret planning and on Friday, 09 December 2016, we headed through to a special private game lodge in the Waterberg.
The proposal dinner went off perfectly in our romantically decorated private suite where Clint got down on one knee (broke a glass) and popped the question. Nicky said 'of course' and agreed to be his future wife.
On 8th February we will be heading off to Singapore to board the Celebrity Constellation for a 14-night cruise around Asia including Hong Kong, Vietnam, Phillipines and Malaysia. Although we are both well-travelled, the Far East is uncharted territories for both of us and so we are excited to be going on an adventure of both relaxation at sea and exploring new cultures around Asia. Whoop!
