So once upon a time a chicken farmer knocked an English teacher off her feet. They fell in love. That was the beginning and the end of it. We became best friends, partners in crime, soul mates. Our relationship is filled with a no nonsense, quirky type of love. We love to go on adventures...packed with Adrenalin pumping activities. We also share a deep love for nature and animals.
On the 30th of September 2017 I was lucky enough to marry my partner in crime (figuratively), soul mate, rock of reason and best friend. We celebrated our love at The Moon & Sixpence in Muldersdrift with some of our closest family, friends and colleagues. We were blessed with a day packed with only good memories, laughter and love. When the doors at the chapel opened, I felt so privileged to see all our friends and family who shared in our joy. I felt emotional walking down the aisle with my superhero dad. Most importantly I felt like the luckiest woman on Earth, because at the altar was my hubby-to-be, waiting to agree to build a lifetime of memories with me. One of the most memorable moments was when we were able to read our own vows that we prepared.
We were treated to a memorable honeymoon at Candlewood Lodge in Knysna for a week. In that time we had opportunity to soak in all the good feelings and memories of our perfect day. We explored the surrounding area, experiencing everything from the Wolf Sanctuary and Monkeyland to Canyoning at Africanyon, spa treatments at Forrest nature spa and of course wine tasting along the route.
Elegance was not only the theme of the wedding but also the bridal look. I wore lace and tulle dress by Bridal Room Pretoria, burgundy shoes (which I later swapped for some white lacy pumps), diamond necklace. We decided to go with soft, Victorian style curls because I have naturally curly hair.

We got married at The Moon and Sixpence, in Muldersdrift. An elegant venue, with stunning gardens and the most delicious food...and the friendliest staff. Some of our guests stayed over at the venue.
The beauty regime included a balanced diet, regular exercise on the farm and a home teeth whitening kit purchased from Brilliant White SA. The night before the wedding the bridesmaids and I booked in at Glenburn Lodge and Spa, which was close to the venue where we were treated with massages and a Jacuzzi session.
Monette from Exquisite Decor and Flowers worked miracles with stunning flower arrangements which came together beautifully with decor of timeless elegance. Our tables featured a variety of elements such as glass, candles and old books. The tables were given names such as "love", "hope", "peace" etc which we consider important elements of a marriage. These were also displayed on the tables.
The groom looked hansom as ever in a burgundy shirt, black suit with a Tweetie Bird tie. The groomsmen rocked a burgundy shirts with navy ties and black suits.
The bridesmaids looked elegant in full length, navy Infinity dresses which we ordered online.
Rev Gerrit Snyman from Weddings Galore was our marriage officer who delivered memorable message before we read our own vows.

It was not necessary to hire a wedding planner because the staff at Moon & Sixpence as well as Monette at Exquisite Decor and Flowers assisted us throughout the entire process with such professional, friendly service.
Moon & Sixpence's kitchen prepared a delicious three course meal. We decided on cupcakes as our wedding cake. Annah Fudge provided a decadent variety of cup cakes topped with Lindt balls.
Lezanne's Designs in the Cape designed and printed our invitations and all our on-the-day stationary as well as the seating plan.
Soundworx kept our guests dancing all night long with a fantastic variety of music for young and old. Our wedding dance was choreographed by Michelle's Dance Studio in Rustenburg, where we attended lessons for a few weeks before the wedding.
