Yes, we went to Thailand for 12 days. It was an amazing time and we wished that we could have stayed longer.
We got married at Warm Karoo in Bloemfontein. Most of our guests were from Bloemfontein. Some family that came from far away, stayed the night. We were privileged to have my husband's sister, her husband & daughter at our wedding, all the way from the UK.
Our photographer was Francois Slabbert from Palm Photography, and his assistent Werner. Together they make the best team. The photos was absolutely amazing and we always had so much fun with them and felt so comfortable. If I could choose over, it would be Palm Photography again, again and again. Go and check out Palm Photography's Facebook profile.
No, I did all the planning before the wedding myself. Our venue had a GREAT coordinater for the wedding day though. She was amazing, she is really on top of it all. Doing what she does is her passion. All wedding venues (and brides) need a Tammy!
I actually wanted to use my very first car that I got when I matriculated. Unfortunately the car was in Cape Town at that stage and it would be too far to drive. My brother has a friend who is a Cheetah Rugby player and he said he would drive me in his Audi, to the chapel, from where we got dressed. The chapel and reception was on the same place, a stone's throw apart, so it wasn't necessary to use the car again.
Warm Karoo prepared the food. Everything was delicious. The guests still can't stop talking about how nice the food was.
Jeanine from Artisticakes made our wedding cake. The cake was actually for 130 people and we had 101 guests. It was a semi naked cake with mousse and fudge shavings inbetween the layers. There was no cake left - the guests really enjoyed the cake.
Marisa Fourie from Oh, Crop! Creative Studio. She also really goes the extra mile until you are perfectly happy with the designs and service. I really recommend her to other brides. I will always use Marisa's services in the future for any other occasion.
We did not take dance lessons. We tried to make time to practice in the last week before the wedding, but there just wasn't enough time. Just after the photos, before we entered as Mr & Mrs, we quickly practised our dance outside.
Karl Herhold from Drape Inc did our lighting. The lighting was already done the Wednesday before the wedding. He also offered to put up our flags, it really helped us a lot.
We had a DJ. We made use of Star Sound. There was not one second that there was not someone on the dance floor.
