The most memorable moment of the day was the moment I walked down the isle, seeing the look on my soon to be husband's face. It was such a big and emotional moment, filled with happy tears, love and excitement. Seeing our friends and family enjoy themselves on the dance floor was a highlight for both of us.
Yes, we went to Mauritius. It was a surprise destination planned by my husband.
I wanted to go for a classic look, something I could look back on in 20 years' time and still love every detail. My dress - low illusion back, trumpet style with a lot of detail on the dress itself. For the hair I chose an up style to show off the back of my dress. My make up was very natural, nothing over the top. My lingerie doubled as my 'something blue' and it was a gift from one of my bridesmaids. Shoes - Vince Camuto in ballet pink to match my bridesmaids dresses. Jewellery - Forever New and Lovisa.
We got married at the magical Nooitgedacht wine estate, outside of Stellenbosch. Our parents and brothers stayed in the cottages on the estate, but our guests stayed nearby. The venue was truly something out of a fairytale!

Like all brides and grooms, we wanted to look our best on the big day! We decided to cut out refined sugar from our diet as far as possible and worked out at least 4 times a week. Cutting out sugar helped me lose some weight, tone up and also worked wonders for my skin! I had a couple of facials done before the wedding and my body scrub became my best friend - I used a C Spa scrub 3-4 times a week to keep my skin silky smooth and moisturised daily. We opted to go the DIY route for the teeth whitening.
The entire theme of the wedding was rustic, neutral colours with a lot of greenery and a touch of blush pink and rose gold. We had candles in the chapel and on the tables at the reception for added effect.
Kevin wore a navy blue tuxedo from Euro Suit, a white shirt, bow tie and brown shoes. The groomsmen wore navy pants from C-Squared, navy blue ties from Woolworths, white shirts and brown shoes.
The bride squad wore long blush pink dresses with open backs, with beaded detail on the top half of the dresses. We bought their dresses from Bride & Co. All the bridesmaids wore their hair in half updo's to show off the open backs. We got some Pinterest inspiration for their hair.

We were lucky enough to have Inecke de Kock and her team as our photographers, as well as Desmond and Vera from Imagenheart as our videographers. They were the absolute best and all of them amazingly talented! We made use of the photobooth offered by Inecke Photography and Imagenheart got some amazing drone footage of the venue.
We decided not to make use of a planner. We planned the day ourselves - it was challenging, but well worth it! Our suppliers were amazing and so professional, it all came together on the day. Nooitgedacht included a maitre d to assist us on the day.
Since we stayed at the venue, we did not need any transport.
Our food was prepared by the Nooitgedacht staff. Our cake was beautifully made and decorated by Birdcage in Stellenbosch.
Our stationery was designed and printed by Melanie Kemper at The Pink Collection.
What an amazing party it was! Our sound and lighting was done by Justin at Pie In the Sky. He was also our DJ and he did an amazing job reading the crowd and getting it right, right until the very end! We did not take any dance lessons, but we had a couple of practice sessions at home.
