The first time Tiaan laid eyes on me while walking down the aisle was definitely the highlight of the day.
I was shivering and out of breath when I reached him at the end of the aisle - not because it was cold or because i walked too fast, but because the day we always dreamed of was finally there.
It was such an incredible, indescribable feeling!
He was in tears and couldn't keep his eyes off me throughout the ceremony - I just remember him repeating telling me how beautiful I am and how blessed he is to call me his wife.
The day was filled with memorable moments...
The first time my father saw me all dressed-up and ready was definitely one of the best moments - he was so proud as tears streamed down his face, he was speechless and he held me close for a few minutes before we went to the ceremony. Another special daddy-moment, was that we decided to do a father daughter dance -on the day... I didn't think I could waltz - and my dad loves it - we winged it and it was super special.
My handsome hubby surprised me with a lovely get away to Mauritius. It was a secret up to (almost) the very end when he accidentally told the Uber driver on our way to the airport where we are going hahaha.
What made the trip extra special was that it was a first for both of us to go overseas.I do think Mauritius is the perfect honeymoon getaway. A slice of heaven: superb relaxation, a lovely climate, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, rum cocktails at sunset and the list goes on.
I wanted to be i striking bride and give Tiaan a picture he would never forget. l wanted to look like myself...only better.
So i kept everything simple and added a dash of colour on my lips and toes. Now every time i wear red lips he thinks back to our special day.
Makeup: Simple and natural with red lips and long lashes (By "Christa's Skoonheids Salon en Haarkliniek")
Hair: Curls pinned to the side with a couple of fresh Geraldton Wax flowers (By "Christa's Skoonheids Salon en Haarkliniek")
Dress: My dress by "Cindy Bam Couture" was the first and only dress i tried on. When i saw myself in it I knew I had to have it. The very detailed top with the 3D flowers; combined with the simplicity of the bottom had me head over heels in love with it. It is the most beautiful dress and i can't imagine getting married to the love of my life in anything other than that wedding gown. It is absolute perfection.
Shoes: Borrowed stunning heels from my fashion-ista younger sister.
Juwellery: I kept it simple not to draw attention away from the dress' detail.
The pearl drop- earrings i got as a gift from my mother and Tiaan made the pearl wristband himself and gave it to be as a birthday gift while we were still dating.

We got married at Oppie Plaas Wedding Venue.
It is an exquisite country venue nestled in the Garden Route. It is situated between George and Oudshoorn, tucked between the breath-taking Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains.
I grew up in Oudtshoorn and since i could remember I was in love with the Mountains - it made the perfect setting to promise forever to my hubby.
Also spring is my absolute favourite time of year and we were so lucky to have the the last of the trees blooming in the Waboomskraal valley at the date of our wedding which made for amazing photos.
Situated conveniently in Waboomskraal in the Garden Route, Oppieplaas is a serene venue only 20 minutes from George, and 35 minutes from Oudtshoorn.
Being healthy and working out is generally part of my everyday lifestyle.
But i definitely worked harder in the gym and had to keep my sweet tooth under control leading up to the big day.
"White, Grey & silver with a dash of colour" was what we went for throughout the day.
Because the venue itself gives a pretty rustic feel, we wanted everything else to be clean and elegant. The tables had white runners, light grey serviettes (made by my mother-in-law) and white underplates with diamante detail.
Glass and grey vases filled with Proteas, colourful fynbos and ruscus leaves were placed on the runners. Candles, fairylights and silver detail elements gave the reception a touch of romance.

The bridesmaids wore light grey and white dresses with their lips and bouquets being the dash of colour.

Ruan Redelinghuys Photography captured our special day perfectly- we love his artistic, laid back style, he makes everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and he has a great eye for those special moments - which is exactly what we wanted.
Mustard Seed Films took our wedding video, they fitted in with the young vibe of the wedding and we really look forward to our video - know it will be exceptional.
We didn't have a wedding coordinator. The families from both sides, the bridesmaids and I came together at the venue a few days before the big day - we all worked together in making the day exactly as we dreamed it to be.
It helped a lot that my sister-in-law has a wedding coordinating business ("'n Handjie vol Liefde") on the side especially with the finer touches; turns out "doing flowers" isn't just putting them in a pot haha :).
My cousin, Jolandi Visagie, made the wedding cake and cupcakes - we couldn't decide on a flavour, so we decided to have cupcakes in different flavours which the guests could choose from.
Tiaan and I handmade the cake-topper by carving it out of balsa-wood & painting it.
The food was prepared by the venue and it truly was delicious.
All stationary were designed and printed by myself
It was very important to us that the guests have a good time. A lot of our friends and family had to travel far to be there and we wanted to make it a wedding to remember.
My cousin, Marisca Visagie sang and played guitar during the ceremony and at the canapes which was very special and gave a cozy atmosphere to the start of the day.
AudioBrooks a DJ from Oudtshoorn had to get everyone dancing and I wont be amazed if everyone's feet are still sore, even my grandparents were on the dance floor celebrating the day away.
