On a sunny Saturday morning I woke up at about 5am and I was sooo excited because it was finally happening, the day I have been waiting for my whole life was HERE! it was my wedding day! I was quite calm during the morning while the venue was still full of suppliers delivering our décor, the flowers was being done and the tables set up. On that moment I walked into the reception hall and I was in awe of how beautiful it al looked. The flowers was brighter and bigger than I could have imagined and the tables was so white and the main table's flower runner took my breath away. The tears started to flow as I knew my fairy tale was happening. That moment was 1 of the 1st highlights of the day. I panicked a bit when the menu's and table numbers didn't stand like I planned it to but the groomsmen sorted that out quite quickly. The bridal party was all make-upped and their hair was almost done when my make up started. When they started with my hair I got really excited because I knew I was going to put on my princess dress and marry my prince. You always see the pictures of the bride's fathers face when he sees her for the first time but I think picture of that moment is 1 of the best ever. The top highlight was when my father and brother stood on the other side of the door and when the doors opened, they just stood there in awe of how I look and the tears came again. That is a memory I will treasure forever. When you walk down that isle you there is so much going on and the adrenaline is so high you almost miss the moment. My top memorable moment of my wedding day was as I was walking down I remembered to forget about all the guests and about my big dress not fitting in the isle and cut out all the noise around me as I looked up at my soon to be husband and at that moment he was wiping away a tear and our eyes met and I just knew this was all I ever could have asked for. All the speeches was amazing and I wiped away a few tears during my brothers' speech as well as my husbands' speech. When we opened the dance floor my brother came and asked if we can dance. We danced to Karlien and Bobby van Jaarsveld's Toe Ons Jonk Was, this is very special as we are very close and the song describes our relationship. The Father Daughter dance was also quite emotional as we danced to Heartland's I loved Her First and as the baby girl of the family my father now knew I was grown up. The 23rd of September 2017 was the best day of my life as I married my best friend and spent the day in the most beautiful venue with all our loved ones. I think as long as you marry the man you love with everything in you, your wedding day will be perfect!
YES! we went to the magical island of Zanzibar. We flew out on the Tuesday after the wedding. This gave us enough time to pack and say goodbye before we left. We stayed in Uroa Bay Beach Hotel, which was amazing! The staff is so friendly and the view of the ocean is amazing. We met up with 2 other South African couples who also was on honeymoon and we made new friends with other South Africans who celebrated their anniversary. It was an amazing honeymoon,
As a young girl growing up I always wanted a fairy tale wedding. I wanted this big princess, white dress. I wanted my hair up like the Disney princesses. I never grew out of this dream and when I started planning the wedding I had this picture in my mind of how I wanted everything to look like a fairy tale you always see in the movies. I searched for the perfect dress for months on end without success. At the bridal expo we got a brochure of Eurobride and the dresses they advertised was exactly what I wanted. The first dress I tried on was "THE ONE" and I knew there will be no dress that will ever make me feel more like a princess than this one. Because the dress has a lot, and a mean a lot, of diamonds I knew I could not wear a necklace so I got the wow factor earrings from Lovisa to compliment my dress. The earrings really did round of the princess look. My hair was done by CMH Hair Studio and they knew exactly what I wanted even before I could explain the look I was going for. My make up was done by Yolanda from Halouw, she made my entire bridal party look like princesses. She does magic with that brush! I love heels but I knew on my wedding day I will not be able to wear heels as I will then be taller than my husband so I got the best of both worlds. I bought Miss Black "bling" heels for all the pictures and almost exactly the same pumps for the reception. In the end I just wore the pumps during the ceremony and after that I was a barefoot bride! My garter was also just bling all-over but it was so special as my mom and I picked it out together. All my accessories have a story and this makes it all even more special
I was looking for a wedding venue to compliment my fairy tale look. Oxbow Country Estate in Bronkhorstspruit ticked all of my boxes. With the green grass and the beautiful dams it made the most amazing photos. The venue itself is filled with beauty as the 2 small chapels cater to every need. We got married in the outside chapel overlooking the dam with all the birds singing around us. The chandeliers inside the reception hall is a show stopper. The food was AMAZING! My guests still talk about how good the food was and how pretty everything on the plate looked. it was just the perfect venue. TJ was my wedding planner at Oxbow and I was very blessed to have him by my side every step of the way. He really went out of his way to ensure I have an unforgettable day. The venue has quite a few rooms so my guests just walked to their room after the party. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast that was on the same standard as the food at the wedding which was amazing. It was an amazing way to end of the wedding!

Again I wanted the whole fairy tale look with big balls of flowers and white chairs to compliment the white table linen. My flowers was done by Lavendulla and they did an amazing job on not only the centre pieces but on my bouquet and the nice idea for the bridesmaids flowers. They also did some of the décor on the tables as the little candles and the cloches fulled with roses. But the show stopper for me was the main table's flower runner. It was spot on perfect. All was white with this huge bunch of flowers and a spot of pink in between. It made all look magical.
The groom looked very handsome in the grey suit. I actually wanted navy blue suits but when he tried on the grey it took my breath away! I am very glad we decided on the grey as it complimented the bridesmaid's pink dresses very well.
The groomsmen also wore the grey trousers with a grey waistcoat and bow tie to mach. They got their handsome suits from Eurosuit. We rounded of the grey with a brown belt and matching brown shoes. They got a little surprise as we bought superhero cufflinks and socks to match each of their personalities. This made very cool photos! I got these from The Wedding Warehouse just 2 weeks before the wedding and their service was beyond good!
We searched long and far for the perfect pink and perfect fit for the girls. It was quite a task as the 1 lady is tall and the other one is short, so to find the same dress that flatters them both was a struggle. In the end they looked amazing in their dusty pink dresses from YDE.
Also a long time dream for me was to be married by Lenrou Jacobs from Doxa Deo Noord Kampus. He moved to Alberton but he still agreed to lead our ceremony. It was the most beautiful service and we will always remember the words he blessed our marriage with.
