On the 8th of August 2015, the stars aligned, angels sang, wifi connection held and we both swiped right! It took a week before we would actually meet face to face. Countless messages were sent in the build up to our first date! Friday the 14th of August, we shared the first of many G&T's at Bellini's in Illovo. The rest is history. We "clocked tinder" and couldn't be happier.
We both knew from the start and may seemed clichéd - but this is the one!

We spent 10 incredible days in Bali.
I would describe my look as understated elegance. I always wanted to take my inspiration from Audrey Hepburn and add my own special touch unique to me.
I wanted my hair to be classic and away from my face in order to dance the night away with my new husband and my make up to be dewy and smokey.
I fell in love with my dress the minute I tried it on! It was the 3rd dress I tried and when I saw myself in the mirror - it was as though it was made just with me in mind. I had my Cinderella moment!I knew I wanted lace and for it to be fitted and it was everything I wanted and more.
My shoes were an absolute treat! I love a bit of sparkle and found the perfect pair on line!
My jewellery was very sentimental to me as it was the very first birthday present my Husband gave me when we started dating. The most elegant pearl earrings and necklace!
My Husband and I knew from the beginning of our wedding planning journey that we did not want your traditional wedding venue and we found just that in Ground. It was the first venue we saw in Muldersdrift and we booked it straight away.
Although it was not too far from Johannesburg, we did not want our guests to have to worry about driving home after the party, so we collated a list of accommodation options which were close to the venue.
We also planned shuttles from Ground to the hotels where our guests were staying. Together with our bridal party and parents, we spent our first night at Avianto which is 5km from our venue
The team from BlackJack Events were absolutely phenomenal. They took every idea and vision which I had for our big day and made it a reality.
Ground lends itself to what I like to call our "Vintage Industrial Chic" wedding - many might read that description and think - "how?" but the photo's of our decor speaks for itself
We loved the raw wood tables, with touches of Rose Gold and Grey accents. For the flowers, we wanted lots of white flowers with a touch of green. For the romance, we added lots of romantic lighting with candles which paired perfectly with the exposed bulbs already at the venue
My husband and I consider ourselves Gin experts, and we added empty bottles of our favourite Gin - Inverroche Amber as our table number holders.
We wanted our guests to see a piece of us as a couple in everything which was in the venue on our special day
The Groom wore a light grey 3 piece suite paired with a Blush tie and Pocket square. The Groomsmen wore the same suite in a darker grey.
As a bride, it was very difficult to not have control over this aspect of the wedding, but my husband has exceptional taste and they all looked dashing at the top of the aisle
The Bridesmaids dresses are always a thought provoking topic and with 6 Bridesmaids with different body shapes and styles, it was a dynamic process. I did not want my ladies to feel like the "ugly bridesmaid" and I found the most exceptional dress maker in the East Rand.
Teresa from Tree Couture was a life saver and helped us every step of the way through the designs of the dresses. Once we had found the fabric, the rest was very easy and the dresses where gorgeous.
We could not have found 2 more professional people if we even tried!
Our photographer is Devin Lester from Devin Lester Photography. We first used Devin for our engagement shoot and booked him for the wedding immediately. Devin's eye for the perfect photo together with his undying perfectionism was amazing! He took care to capture every special moment and more. Our photo's are truly exquisite.
Our videographer is Andre Sonnekus. Andre came highly recommended and we could not be agree more with every word. He was brilliant and discreet. This is truly what you want on your wedding day as he captured special memories which could so quickly fade. Thankfully we have these captured to last a life time.
Teagan Venter from BlackJack Events was planner extraordinaire! Nothing was ever too much trouble and her attention to detail is second to none. I do not know what I would have done without her. She made my dreams a reality and was the buffer from the little things would could so easily stress a bride out.
Taylor Rhodes and Nicky Dykhouse are the "Flower Dream Team" from BlackJack Events. My bouquet was exquisite! Every single flower sourced for our wedding for all the bouquets, button holes, corsages and table arrangements were handled with the love and care they deserve
I arrived at our venue in an Vintage Baby Blue Volkswagen Bus.
I have loved this car from when I was a child and our amazing friends have one which they are restoring.
The team from Calico & Cream did our catering for the wedding.
They listened to all our favourites - sent through a proposed menu option - which was followed by the best tasting ever and ultimately the dinner that was served on the evening.
I am salivating just thinking about the menu - it was exceptional.
The entertainment at our wedding was a non negotiable and we were very clear on the party which we wanted for our wedding. We were fortunate enough to be able to book 3 of our favourite acts for our wedding.
Guests were entertained by The Rocketeers during Canapés, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
This was followed by our favourite band - Rubber Duc - who absolutely rocked it! The dance floor was jam packed - not one single guest was sitting when these guys were playing!
We partied on into the early hours of the morning with DJ Essential Groove. Our favourite DJ and absolute legend.
