The first part being walking down the aisle in the church between both of my parents and then seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle. The second part was my dance with my dad - we were both emotional and cried our eyes out, even making some guests teary eyed and then another fifties dance medley with my dad filled with choreographic mistakes but that made it even more memorable.
My husband and I went to The Wilderness Hotel in Wilderness for three days and then to the Redbourne Country Lodge in Plettenberg Bay.
My hair was styled by my dad in a low messy like bun completed with a diamanté flower hair clip from Lovisa. I did my own make up, keeping it soft and within our vintage theme with light pink eyeshadow and lips. My dress had long sleeves with lace along the arms, flowers and sequins all over the bodice and a long train with lace edging. I wore a beige t-bar Mary Jane style shoe and simple accessories to not draw attention from my beautiful dress (a diamanté heart pendant and medium length earrings).
We got married at The Range Chapel in Tokai.
I only had my eyebrows threaded lol.
Our wedding had a fifties theme and the dress code was retro vintage. Each table was styled after an icon/ character from the fifties: Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Superman, Barbie, James Bond and Elizabeth Taylor. There was subtle lighting and our main colours were white, black and red. My dad and I designed, and made the centrepieces for each table. Roses in every colour was used.
They wore black suits from Polo and ties matching the bridesmaids dress colours. My husband wore a bow tie that matched my reception change of outfit. They also had superhero cufflinks - the groomsmen had Superman, The Flash and Thor while my husband had Batman.
As my wedding was reminiscent of the fifties era, my bridesmaids and flower girl wore three quarter length, polka dot dresses with glitter tulle and diamanté appliqué.
Pastor Clive Faasen.
We had the amazing Leigh-Anne Ooisthuizen and her husband, Julian from L.A Photography. We had used their services for our engagement photo shoot as well and they were literally 10/10
No, my husband and I put our heads together and my dad and I co-ordinated it.
My husband organised the perfect vintage car for me and my dad - a Westminster Mk 2
The caterers were Decksters Catering. Not only did they do the catering, but the majority of the decor as well. My mom and dad made my beautiful wedding cake.
