Seeing my husbands face as I walked down the aisle, his eyes filling with tears... Our wedding was everything we could have imagined and so much more! It was beyond perfect.
About 2 hours before the ceremony, my husband realized that he had lost his tie that we had made for him. Thankfully one of his groomsmen came to the rescue and rushed to the mall to buy one.
Our ceremony was romantic, with the sun shining down on us through the window in the garden chapel.
At our reception I sang our song to my husband, and had friends of mine play the keyboard and guitar, to make the moment more personal.
Our first dance was also very special, we did not practice before hand as my husband was healing from a foot operation (his brace came off the day of our wedding). However, it turned out perfectly. Halfway through our dance, my dress was getting in the way so I asked him to pick me up and we finished our dance with him romantically swinging me around.
We added a lot of sentimental items to our wedding to remember our loved ones who have passed.
We went on a short trip to Durban for 4 days, just to get away after all the planning.
I wanted a natural romantic look. My hair was curled and pinned back, with my long hair on my shoulders, my make up was natural - I didn't want anything flashy or too much makeup.
My shoes were an eggplant purple, to match our wedding colours.
My jewellery was hand made by Kathleen Barry, along with my hair pieces. And my bracelet was my something borrowed - genuine pearls from my cousin.
We got married at Everwood Country Weddings in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg.
Our guests stayed in surrounding accommodations.

Our colours were eggplant purple and champagne gold.
We were going for a romantic feel for our wedding. We had dark purple roses in cylinder vases and candles, with champagne coloured overlays and tiebacks.
Our beautiful decor was done by Monique from Splendid Wedding Designs.
The groom wore a champagne coloured waist coat and tie (which matched the sash and my wedding gown). The groomsmen wore dark purple waistcoats and ties.
All the suits were black and the men had purple socks.
The bridesmaids wore knee high dresses which were and eggplant with nude coloured heels.
The dresses were made, and each lady chose how she wanted the top of her dress designed.
Our venue prepared the food for us, it was made by Margariet Ayres. She did such a fantastic job! The food was amazing!
And our wedding cake and cupcakes were made by my amazing sister-in-law!
I designed and printed my stationery myself, along with my bridesmaids help.
We didn't go for any dance lessons, which made our dances more natural.
We had a live band (Jazz Company) in the garden for our cocktail hour and then we had a DJ (DJ Sonic Storm).
All our guests had a blast at our wedding! And our dance floor was always full!
