We went on our first date in March of 2016...engaged in December of the same year - and have been inseparable ever since. I knew he was the one.
It was Christmas eve 2016 (my favourite time of year), and we hosted a family dinner at our small flat. Thereafter, we went to his parent's place to exchange gifts, and the next thing I knew he was down on one knee in front of our families. It was so simple, significant and special.
Special moments would have to be while I was getting dressed with my bridal party in the manor house at Nooitgedacht Estate. My father came to fetch me before walking down the aisle, and he cried when he saw me in my wedding dress. That was a very special and emotional moment for me. Then of course actually walking down the aisle to my knight in shining armour felt like a fairytale.
We went on a week long honeymoon to Botlierskop Game Reserve in the Western Cape. Private villa, nature, animals, fireplace...what more could a girl ask for?
The look I was going for is soft and romantic. I wanted to look like a fairy princess in my dress (designed and made by Rene H Couture), and that is exactly how I felt. Shoes were from Queenspark, lingerie from La Senza, jewellery was a gift from my mother in law. Make up was done by Toshca Thomas.
We had our ceremony and reception at Nooitgedacht Estate in Stellenbosch. We also spent our first night at the venue.

I tried to eat as healthily as possible leading up to the wedding, and drank a lot of water. I had a brightening facial done a week before. Nothing too intense. Skin moisturization was key.

The groom's black suit was from River Island in Canal Walk. Groomsmen hired their grey suits from the Top Hat Suit Company in Cape Town.
My bridesmaid's dresses were custom made. Champagne coloured lace and chiffon, all different styles.

Our photographer was Photonique (contact person: Bronwin Dreyer). They were absolutely amazing.
My husband and I coordinated our own wedding day.
Not applicable, as everything took place at the venue.
The food was provided by Nooitgedacht Estate, and my wedding cake by Shanaaz Guenantin.

We didn't take dance lessons, we simply winged our first dance! We had a live band (The Pedestrians) and a DJ. It was a great party!
