One of the first big and emotional moments was when my mother put my veil on. We both burst into tears and then just held eachother. It was as if it just suddenly hit my that I was really getting married!
Another big moment was when my father saw me for the first time. He also just held me and we both cried
Of course also when I saw my husband at the end of the isle and he was looking stunningly handsome, I also shed a few tears.
Our dance was also a biggy seeing that we had been practicing for months. Everything went super well untill the very last move - or shall I say drop - haha
Yes! We left the very next morning for Zanzibar. It was an amazing experience with my new husband :)
I went for a very bohemian, beachy look. Anything but bling and poofy. My dress was a Lillian West dress with a beautiful floral and lace train.
My hair was loosely curled with a half up-do and some fynbos flowers added to add to the bohemian look.
I kept it very simple with jewelry. I wore an old pearl bracelet of my mother and tear-shaped pearl hanging earrings.
With my make up I decided to go slightly dramatic with my eyes seeing that I have big eyes - but I kept it very simple otherwise with a nude lip. And of course I had to have a french ombre on my nails :)
We held our wedding at Geelbek Restaurant in the middle of the West Coast National Park and nature reserve.
We were completely surrounded by nature on the one side and on the other side we had a wide view of the beautiful crystal blue lagoon under a big white marquee tent filled with fairy lights. It was truly magical!
My husband and I have tried to eat well and exercise since we started dating. So we did not really change much leading up to the wedding.
I wanted to look like ME on my wedding day
I wanted something soft and suited to the beach theme. I opted for navy dresses, but finding eight identical bridesmaid dresses wasn't an easy task!
So eventually I found beautiful dresses on Superbalist for a very reasonable price and my grandmother crocheted navy sandals for all of them.
Our marriage officer was an old friend of mine from Namibia who I have known for many years.
He gave a beautiful message and I loved the fact that he was young and he knew me and my family
I decided to have both a photographer and videographer seeing that it is the only thing you are left with after the big day.
Our photographer was the amazing Kusjka du Plessis who takes amazing photos and she is extremely commited and manages her time exceptionally well. Highly recommended!
Our videographers were Jacques and Chane from 25 weddings. They are the sweetest people ever and made me feel very comfortable even doing things in slowmo
