My wedding was the highlight of my life, but if I had to choose my most favourite moment... I would say it was the moment my husband looked into my eyes and said "I do." At that exact moment I knew my life just changed and it wil be a better life from that moment on.
We went to the most amazing honeymoon destination in South-Africa. Porcupine pie lodge hidden in the mountains of Wildernesses in the Western Cape. They cater only for honeymoon couples arranging romantic events for the couple to enjoy all the well you are enjoy a breathtaking view of mountains and nature all around you. It was the most relaxing and romantic two weeks of my life!
If I had to describe my look, I would say it was vintage. Lace and pearls was my main style choice. My whole dress was made with lace, from top to bottom. Pearls were stitched onto the dress to soften the texture and give it a more vintage appearance. My jewelery was all freshwater pearls, earrings, necklace and I even wore pearls around my arm. I wore a pearl headpiece that was handmade by my mother and myself. Every piece I wore was made of lace and or pearls. My lingerie was all white lace and was a vintage high-waisted two piece. My make up was done by MUD. We focused on my eyes and a deep red lip for a vintage touch. Plain loose curls hanged next to my face only to place focus on my vintage headpiece.
We got married at Peppertree venue in Bloemfontein.
Firstly, the venue we hired had huge chandeliers giving it a very romantic feeling, with that we incorporated a combination of fairy lights and naked bulps. The lights were dimed to give a soft romantic feeling. The whole venue was given a vintage feel using those lights and other elements such as old suitcases, typewriters, lace and pearls. The flowers we used were lavender. Confetti was lavender. EVERYTHING WAS LAVENDER, which also made the whole venue smell amazing. The tables had a combination a white lace, golden lanterns and candles a giving it a vintage touch as well as a nice aroma of lavender.
The groom wore a suit from Madison boutique. The groomsmen got their attire from Eurosuit.
The bridesmaids wore soft white and lavender dresses from Forever New and a headpiece made from lavender flowers.
Eloise Van rensburg photography did our photos. Amaizing photographer and person. She made sure she understood the theme of the wedding and how to catch it on film. She also got to know our personalities and made sure she captured it on every photo.
I designed all the stationary myself and was printed at Dupla printers.
We made use of a live band in the Chappel. A pianist and Chellis. At the reception a DJ played soft background music.
