One of the most memorable moments for me on my wedding day was have my almost 100 year old Grandfather present at my wedding, who also delivered a speech on the day, was truly a blessing having him part of our special day.
No we didn't go on honeymoon, as we decided to do that early next year sometime. But did however go away to Cape Town for a few days, which was a gift from a family member.
I'm a very plain and simple person, so my gown was a simple but elegant ball gown style, boob tube dress with Crystal bead working on the bodice. With a beautiful lace border aplicade at the bottom. Accessories, I just wore a diamante stretch bracelet, and small dainty drop earrings. My hair was also a simple upstyle, with a curl bun at the back, and two small hair clips placed on one side. My make up was done beautifully and looked natural, as I wanted done, by Cassie hair and make up. My garter was a pretty white and blue lace garter that I received from a dear friend at My bridal shower which I wore. And last but not least my ultimate obsession my shoes, which I purchased from a store called Call it Spring, these were very very comfortable in silver with silver diamante working on the middle strap going up.
I got married at Calderwood Hall Edwardian Guest House nestled in the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg mountain KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa.
Our guests did not stay over.
I was actually my own wedding planner, so there was no time to even follow any health and fitness plan... With stress and pressure you end up loosing weight lol, my teeth aren't too bad so I didn't use any teeth whitening treatments. I would have loved to go on a spa treatment before the wedding, but as I mentioned I was planning my own wedding, hence there was absolutely no time for that.
My wedding theme was a Crystal bling theme, my center pieces were high Crystal center pieces which I hired from E by A Decor. The flowers that were placed on the center pieces were done by my mother. My fiancee at the time, now husband did the lighting under each floral arrangement which we sat cutting wires and connecting batteries with switches just 2 days before the wedding till 3am the next morning...which we thankfully got done, it looked beautiful when switched on,the blue LED lighting shone on to the Crystal giving it a beautiful effect , which enhanced the colour of the wedding which was white, silver and blue. The hall came fully draped with clear crystal tiffany chairs, round tables, fairy lights and white lanterns which hung from the ceiling. Also the table clothes and cutlery were all included with the venue. Souveniours were done by myself with the help of my mum and sister, these were blue and Crystal glass decanters, some were placed in silver boxes and some in a silver netting bags with crystals hanging around them, which looked beautiful on the table's.
The dashing groom wore a black suit with a white wing necked collared shirt, black waistcoat, black bow tie, and shiny black shoes. The groomsmen wore light grey suits with teal coloured ties , they managed to find their suits at a store in fordsburg in Jhb.
The bridesmaids all wore the same style dresses , which were implemented by myself. The dresses were sleeveless, long flowey dresses with the top half in see through netting sequence material, in a beautiful teal blue colour.
Our marriage officer was Pastor David Perumal.
Our photography was done by Studio Unmlimited- Rekash Sinanin. His work is absolutely phenomenal.
Our videographer was done by Martin Brandow Photography.
We did use a photo booth which was a great idea to have done, our guests had lots of fun with this, and it kept them entertained while we were doing our photo shoots.
As mentioned above, I did not have a planner or coordinator, as this was all done by myself.
Wedding transport wasn't anything too fancy, my friends husband transported me to the venue, in his convertable white Bmw.
The food was done by CHC Catering. Which was absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all the guests.
Wedding cake was done by Queens Cakes.
A relative did our wedding invitations, I gave her the design I wanted and she made it happen. Came out lovely.
We literally practiced for our dance the night before the wedding , for like 5min! It surprisingly turned out to be spectacular... We did have an entertainer who performed while we were doing our photo shoots.
