The unexpected highlights for me was the behind-the-scene activity. Because the farm was quite far for most people, some of our bridesmaids and groomsmen arrived the Thursday before the wedding. I loved watching the finer detail come together with everyone putting the thank you gifts on the tables, helping with the serviette folding, and putting everything in place. For me the build up was as great as the actual day. The morning of our wedding day was amazing, and so special. Getting ready surrounded by loved ones and best friends. Having my mother sitting and watching while everyone's make-up and hair gets done. My bridesmaids making me laugh the whole time and just joking around. The highlight of my day was when my bridesmaids told me I must be ready by half past 2, because I need to go somewhere. They took me to the farm next door, and there it was... My husband got me a helicopter to take me to church. The best moment was to see him again. Standing at the ed of the aisle crying like a baby of happiness. Our first dance was the best. We had a song written by Elvis se Seun especially for us. It was the most perfect day of my life.
We went to an amazingly beautiful private island in Thailand, called Santhiya. It was the best holiday of my life. So much beautiful clear blue water islands to see on a speed boat cruise, spa treatments that you can dream of, and the best cocktails at the most romantic restaurants with a sea view, while watching the sunset.
I got the most perfect dress that I absolutely fell in love with the moment I had it on at the fitting. I t was completely different then the dress I imagined myself in, but it was perfect. It was a mermaid style with lace sleeves. My dress had so much detail, that I picked a up style for my hair. My make up was very dramatic but it complimented the dress perfectly. My shoes were comfortable and exactly what I wanted. My jewelry had lots of bling and everything was rose gold.
We got married at our game farm in Naboomspruit. Sekopo Private game reserve. It is a newly build wedding venue, and we had the honor to be the first to get married at the venue. We booked out two lodges within 15 kilometers from the farm, and most of the guests was staying over from the Friday night already.
I was eating healthy and went to gym everyday to stay in shape. I had my skin treatments like chemical peel's done at Dr Hannah Aesthetic Clinic in Pretoria.
My decor was minimal, because the venue was already perfect on its own. We had flowers everywhere. Pink proteas, succulent plants and leaves. All the furniture was wood and the lighting was soft. It was perfect.
The groom wore a maize color suit from Suit Connexion in Boksburg, and the groomsmen was wearing khaki chino's and white shirts from old khaki. They also wore hessian bow tie's and baby pink suspenders. The groom was wearing a light pink tie and brown leather suspenders. All of the shoes was 'Liefde Wen' vellies.
The bridesmaids wore long blush pink tulle skirts and white lace tops, with brown boots. The dresses was made by Verlief.
We used RDK Photography for the photo's, Heinz Boesenberg films for the video and Snap-ease boothtography for the photobooth. The made everything so much fun. There were never a dull or awkward moment with these people. they were definitely the best. The photographer and videographer have worked together at many different occasions. They were professional, funny and got all the shots we wanted.
I did not have a planner. I did everything myself, and I enjoyed every moment doing it.
My husband got me a helicopter to take me to the church. Such a big surprise
All my food was made by Function hyper in Polokwane and the cake was made by a house friend.
My menu's and table names was done by Creque Designs
We did not take dance lessons before the time. We worked out our own dance. Magicbean Records did our music and the live band was Elvis se Seun.
