Yes, we went on Honeymoon to the Western Cape as this has been a dream for both of us. We've stayed in Paternoster and traveled everyday, exploring the surround area, ticking off the bucket list items.
My wedding look was a typical fairy tale, princess-feeling wedding look. I had this perfect dress captured in my mind, drew it on a piece of paper and Lubellos Bridal had the perfect dress in store. I knew when I saw the dress - even though it was not in budget - it is mine! When the dress was selected, everything else fell into place...the perfect strap detail sandal with diamante trim, elegant fairy hair with a bit of a retro make-up look - as a red lip is a MUST with me - something borrowed, blue, new and old. I felt like Cinderella...
We got married at De Haven Oost Wedding Venue, Rayton - a quaint nostalgic vintage village that offers an amazingly romantic atmosphere, perfect for our 'Elegant Rustic' style wedding. Close friends and family stayed at the venue itself and nearby accommodation in Rayton and Cullinan but most of our guests were from the area.
I tried to loose some weight before the wedding, but struggled extremely as I am a emotional eater :-) Then I decided to go as is as my future husband has chosen me for who I am. Instead, I focused on beautiful radiant skin, hair growth and spa treatments. This already started a year before the wedding, and I am still doing it.
Our venue included all these services in-house - flowers, furniture, catering, decor and DJ
What a perfect way to make sure the bride is stress-free. No need to shop arround
My husband was easy. He saw the perfect outfit at Woolworths, including the groomsmen's trousers and bow ties.
I had the easiest bridesmaids ever! I gave the budget and color preference, we went to Centurion China Mall and after a half of day, they were sorted! Shoes was bought online after suggested by one of the girls - at a discount price. My flower girls' dresses was HANDMADE by my aunt...so special! I left the whole styling part in their capable hands.

We had the most amazing photographer and videographer. Marleen and Bernard from Pink Flower Productions. They are the most stunning and professional couple ever! I absolutely love them! They really went that extra mile to double check everything until perfection. They took even those in-between photo moments - and they are in a decent budget!
We had a photobooth for guests entertainment while we went for our couple shoot. AMAZING! Absolutely love Hello Photobooth. They knew how to interact with the guests and kept them entertained. Our guests loved it so much - time was actually not enough. Amazing couple we met at SAACI Congress!
No, I did everything myself. Our wedding venue's coordinator assisted me a lot! I made her a bit crazy :-)
Lelapa Travel and Transfers transported my bridesmaids from the one venue to the other and provided us with a wedding car to transport me to the wedding venue. The next day, they transported some of my guests home safely.
The wedding venue prepared the food. We had a popcorn buffet and donut cake at the pre-reception. The wedding cut cake was a Mozart Cake. The main course was a Build your own Burger Buffet with mudpie with ice cream as dessert. Loved it! Guests had seconds, and no food was wasted.
We decided to cut on stationary costs and made everything ourselves - even our custom-made newsletter!
The party was live and energetic! The in-house DJ was amazing. They did all the necessary meetings to make sure just the right music is played for everyone. The song request before and during was perfect! It was sad when the end time came but what better way to end it with "I had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing. For our first dance, we had 10 dance lessons, as a gift from one of our guests, to shine on the dance floor. Both of us had a bit of stage freight, forgot the dance ... and just 'winged-it' - no one even noticed....
