One of the most memorable moments of our wedding was when we entered the chapel. All bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, my husband, my dad and myself danced down the isle. We did not enter the chapel the traditional way. This was very exiting and something out of the ordinary.
We got married at an Italian venue. We served Pizza and Pasta at our wedding and used Italian Cities as table "numbers".
We had a grooms cake which consisted of shooters along with the wedding cake.
We went to the Lowveld which is based in Mpumalanga. The lowveld is one of the most beautiful, natural scenery I have ever seen in my life thus far. We visited the majority of waterfalls by hiking through forests. We visited caves and places such as old towns, God's Window, Bourke Luck's potholes and Mac Mac Pools.
We got married at Louig Giano in Pretoria. It is an Italian Venue, it almost looks like an Italian Village. I fell inlove with this venue a few years back, when our best friend got married at the same venue. I told my husband, the day we get married, it will be at the same venue.
Some guests stayed overnight at the Venue as there is rooms available. Some guests booked accommodation close by as the venue is based near Hartbeespoort Dam.
I would not describe myself as the type of person who is into any of the above mentioned. Although, I did visit the dentist to have my teeth whitened. No health and fitness, no skin or spa treatments.. The only special treatment I had, was getting my nails and hair done..
We rented elevated mirrors and martini glasses as centerpieces. We filled the martini glass with turquoise water crystals and wrapped fairy lights around the stem of the martini glasses. I used Gerbera flowers for our wedding, although it was not as I would have wanted the flowers to be, we made the best out of the situation we were in.
The groom brought a full tux at Topman Edgars. The groomsmen wore black trousers with suspenders. We custom made briefs for the groom and groomsmen with the wording Groom, Best Man and Groomsmen on. Accessories were kept to a minimum, they only wore watches.
The bridesmaids wore turquoise infinity dresses with flat shoes. I chose to do their hair in a messy bun with a few curls along the side. The makeup artist did the makeup according to their eye color.
Pastor Louis. He is one of our Pastors at Unite 180 Church.
We had 2 photographers at our wedding. They took a video of the dance down the isle, the rest was only photos. The photographers were kind, very professional and creative with photos they took. They also did the effort to stay a while longer as we cut the cake and did the garter and bouquet toss a bit later during the evening.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen assisted with the planning and coordination of the day.
The bridesmaids and myself drove to the venue ourselves the morning of the wedding as we were getting ready at the venue. The groomsmen had accommodation a few km's away from the venue and also drove to the venue by themselves. Because the chapel and the reception is at the venue, we did not have to be transported from one place to another.
The owner and his staff prepared our Pizza, Pasta and Salad for the wedding. My aunt bakes cakes for a living. She did the wedding cake as a wedding present and they also organised the grooms cake for my husband.
Anandi from Makietie Ontwerpe assisted with the invites and thank you gifts. We used Italian Cities instead of table numbers. We handmade the frames used for the photos.
We only took dance lessons for the dance we did down the isle. We never practices that father-daughter dance or first dance. The day of the wedding was the first time we did those two specific dances. The venue includes the DJ. So special lightning was used and the DJ had his own equipment.
