We chose to get married on a public holiday to ensure that we will always have a day to celebrate it.
No not yet. We are planning a trip to the UK and Ireland for a Christmas honeymoon.
I went for the simple but stylish look. I had one white protea for my bouquet. My garter was hand-made by my sister from meterial of an old weddig dress. It was my something old and blue. I had a rose gold bracelet gifted by my boss as my something new to match my rose gold ring. My hair was done by my maid of honour (I have really short hair) ended off with a headband to match the leaf patterns in my dress and bracelet. My something borrowed were earrings from my niece. I was looking for a dress to match my some what bohemian taste. The ladies from Bride and co. picked out the most beautiful dress with branch and leaf detail with beads and a lot of tool. I looked for comfy shoes to match the look and chose light weight plateforms with a thick heel and leaf cut outs. My make-up was done by the excellent Andrea Jacobs from MAC cosmetics Tygervalley.
De Uijlenes, Baardskeerdersbos. Some guests stayed the night as they have rooms on the premises.

I only had my nails done, hair cut and highlighted and ate healthy while doing pilates.
The ceremony was held under a stretch tent next to the dam and the party in their log cabin building with barn fires blazing high for the winter chill. My decor was mostly hand-made by my parents. Including runners and candle holders. Flowers were also done by my parents and sisters.
Their navy blue suits were hired from Mr Suit Hire Cape Gate. Paired with white shirts, bottle green ties and brown shoes.
My bridesmaids wore infinity dresses made by my sister and I. They were champagne coloured and they could wrap it as they wished. The dresses were ankle length. The girls could choose their own shoes.

Everything was at the same venue so I did not need any transport.
The food was catered by the staff from De Uijlenes and it was outstanding. The cake was made by Tania Wessels. My husband's cousin the baker.
I designed, printed etc. all the save-the-dates and invites.
Our DJ covered all sound and lighting and was very affordable. Deon Carstens
