Our wedding was planned in just a short space of under 3 months and yet it was still the most incredible and memorable day yet. Due to a cancellation at the venue we had our heart set on, we knew it was a sign. This meant a lot of work in a short space of time, but we were up for the challenge.
My most memorable moment for me was walking down the aisle, I couldn't hold my bouquet still, as my nerves were finished, but when I saw my husband to be, I was filled with feelings of calmness and serenity, this was the right decision I had made. I saw how much he truly loved and cared for me. Emotions aside we were both overwhelmed with tears of joy.
We have not yet gone on honeymoon however, we would love to go to a tropical beach resort.
My hair was inspired by Khaleesi from the Mnet series Game of Thrones. I absolutely adore her and think she is gorgeous. My make up was a natural look with brown shades for my eyes.
I wore flat sandles laced with pearls for an elegant look and my jewellery was minimalist wo th pearl earrings and pearl bangles, accompanied by my gorgeous wedding ring.
We made a weekend of our wedding and spent both the Friday and Saturday night at the venues accommodation units. On the Friday we had a lovely bonfire and pizza and on the Saturday we ducked each other so that we didn't come face to face with one another until the ceremony.
We stayed at the Secret Gardens.
Two weeks before my wedding I went on a cleanse by removing junk food from my diet and drinking lots of water and green tea. I for a face serum that really lit my skin up and used it at morning and at night. I went for a spray tan 4 days before my wedding to give me the glow I had wanted and went for aa nice massage a few days before to relax and unwind before the big day.
My decor was inspired by the pureness of a wedding and so I chose white proteas. For my bridal bouquet I had a cascading bouquet filled with lillies. Our decor was simple with rustic elements kept to a minimum.
The groom wore a suit that was purchased from Edgars and the Groomsmen wore black suits with white shirts that were hired from Suit Yourself in Durban North.
My bridesmaid look was elegant and sophisticated. They wore a lovely long double layered navy dress with an elegant slit from Forever New, with white wedges accompanied by a beautiful black bangle with their white bouquet. Their hair was pinned up with a few loose strands curled and untucked.
Pastor Jonathan Rutherford was our marriage officer from Hayfields Baptist church which is close to my heart as I have been going to that church since I was in my mother's womb.
Our photographer was Taylor Photography. It was her first wedding and she did such a phenomenal job. We were truly so satisfied with the end result.
Our videographer was Barefoot Videography and we can highly commend them for capturing all of our most memorable moments.
My transport was my ten toes :-) I got ready at the accommodation unit which is right by the chapel so we didn't have to organize any transport.
The venue prepared the food and the wedding cake was hand crafted by my aunt. It was a three tier of which one layer was carrot cake, the other chocolate and the top vanilla. It was wrapped with handmade vines around the white layers. The cake was so divine it was finished before we left for photos. Thankfully we got a taste.
That would be me. We enjoyed our wedding so much that after it we actually started a business hiring out decor, lawn games and designing agendas and layouts and websites.
Every woman deserves to have her dream come true so if I could make mine happen, why not help others achieve their's?
Barefeet loves nothing more than the opportunity to capture these once-in-a-lifetime memories in the most natural, authentic and captivating way.
