When you have given up all hope and one day wake-up on the most beautiful wine farm to realize that it's your wedding day, you take a moment to thank God for His grace. Myself and my dear husband Jacques, both experienced heartache but little did we know that God had such an amazing plan for us. We celebrated our very special relationship on a rainy and then later sunny winters day in Cape Town. We had both been down the aisle before but this felt like the first..I have never been so excited...never felt so loved. Our wedding was intimate and only witnessed by our immediate family. I could not have asked for more. To top it all...our day was captured by the renowned Photographer, Rensche Mari. She is a wonderful human being and it was an honour to have her as our photographer. Our wedding video was collaborated by the creative team at Mighty Fine.
As Jacques proposed in the Seychelles, it was hard choose another islands destination as that whole experience was more than perfect. He surprised me with a trip to enchanted Bali. Jet lagged and overwhelmed we immediately jumped into all that Bali had to offer. Interesting food, scenic views and the friendliest people that I have ever encountered. Heading back home I started sobbing on the plane in Singapore, realizing that all will be back to normal by the morning but I had belly filled with butterflies as I was so excited to fill my new role as "vroutjie".
The extremely talented Donna Taylor did my my makeup and hair. I did not have a trial so all was done on the day for the first time. I wanted to look sultry and elegant. Smoky eyes and wavy/curly hair was our mission. I was in shock when I saw myself..really really loved what dearest Donna was able to accomplish. My dress was chosen from my very own Bridal Boutique - Fe'Amor Bridal. My dress choice was the gorgeous Zada from the 2017 St. Patrick Collection - Pronovias. Less is more when it came down to the accessories. I chose rose gold drop earrings from Pandora and Shoes from Aldo. My stunning engagement ring and wedding band made by the talented Estelle Lourens Juwele was all the bling I needed.
We chose Steenberg Hotel and Wine Farm as the backdrop on the day. We really wanted a venue that showed off the beauty of Cape Town and that could cater for a very intimate party of only 17 peolpe. The team at Steenberg went out of their way to make the big day a memorable one. We were entertained by the Cadillac Orchestra and later by the talented Mr. Angelo Thomas. We had a ball. The food was superb and the wine..well they are known for being one of the best in the industry. It was such an amazing experience.
Our cake was literally the best tasting Carrot Cake that we have ever come across. Dearest Elmarie Louw from Ellas Cakes and Sugar Art outdid herself. The cake was exactly what we wanted.
