My husband and I were not meant to be together. I know it sounds strange but is the truth. We met through mutual friends and after about 3 months we eventually "hooked up". It was never supposed to happen though so the next morning I sent him a message saying that what happened the night before could never happen again. Well I clearly couldn't get enough because the next night we met up and "hooked up" again. And the rest as they say....is history. We have been together nearly 5 years and still going strong.
Mybhusband proosed to me on the 1st of January 2016, in front of friends and family. It was a complete surprise as I though we were just having a new years day lunch. Needless to say he had her planning it for almost 4 months. He asked my mother and father for their blessing. He asked his Ouma, mom and dad for theirs. He had his 2 nephews walk in holding placards that said "will you marry me". His knee wasn't even bent when I said yes LOL. I was completely blown away....he is such a romantic

The most memorable part of my wedding day was seeing my husband cry when I walked down the aisle. He is a rough man and doesn't cry. I will never forget that. Another amazing part of my wedding day was dancing with my dad. A lot of woman are not so lucky to have their dad's at their wedding. I was and I will treasure that moment forever.
We havent been on hineymoon. I would love too but our finances cannot allow it right now. My husband also works away and I see once a month of I'm lucky
I went NON TRADITIONAL. I wore a champagne coloured dress with black lace over it's entirety. I wore a black cage vail, black shoes and pearls. Pearl necklace. Pearl earings and pearls bracelets. My theme was vintage hollywood, so I had the make up and hair to match, right down to the red lips and rosey cheeks. Marilyn would have been proud.
We got married at a venue in the area where we live called Highfield House. Most of our guests were from the area so no, they did not sleep over
My decor was black, cream and silver. I had ostrich feathers and pearls to go with the vintage theme as well as black bottles and a crystal tree with beads as centerpieces
The groom wore a black suit with a white opened shirt and no tie. His groomsmen wore a black suit as well as a black tie and his Paige boys wore black dress pants, a white shirt and black suspenders with a matching now tie
All my bridesmaids wore black dresses and each dress was different. I didn't want my bridesmaids to all match. I wanted them to feel comfortable. 2 dresses were floor length and 1 was mid calf length. They wore silver jewellery and black heels
Our marriage office was Dina Grobelaar
Terri from Tez Taljaard photography captured out special day and we are beyond happy with our photos
No. Myself and my family planned and did the decor ourselves
There was none. Our service and reception was all in one place
