We went out for supper with friends where we were introduced to each other. We stayed in touch afterwards and with time we started falling deeper and deeper in love. Now 6 years later we are still falling for each other every day!
We were in Cape-Town for the weekend when Jarryd took me up to Table Mountain, we were about to take a photo together with the beautiful view behind us when he went onto his knee and asked me to marry him. I will never forget this moment..happy tears came streaming down my cheeks as I said yes!
One of the biggest highlights was seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the isle..I've never experienced so many happy emotions at the same time! At the end of the day that moment is what it is all about..not the flowers, the dress or the cake..but marrying your best friend and the promise you make to each other.
Our first dance was also very special and romantic..we didn't even practice before and it felt like we've been practicing for years..towards the end of the dance Jarryd picked me up and spun me around and at that moment I felt like I was living a dream.
We went on honeymoon straight after the wedding. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Radisson Blu in Port Elizabeth for the first two nights of our honeymoon where we enjoyed 5 star treatment. On the 3rd day of our honeymoon we took a road trip to the Forest Fernery in Tsitsikamma. The Fernery is a beautiful lodge with amazing views overlooking a waterfall and the ocean.
Unfortunately on the fourth day of our honeymoon we both got very sick with flu and were both on bed for 2 days..luckily I took some medicine with just in-case. By the sixth day we decided to dose up on meds and still enjoy our honeymoon..we met up with some friends and did the canopy tours at Stormsriver and then went to Stormsriver mouth to enjoy lunch and beautiful views.
The look I went for was a classic and elegant look. I decided to go with a full long sleeve dress for winter with a open back. My dress was made by wedding dress designer Leandra Fourie in Port Elizabeth. I had a few photos of dresses I liked and she used the images and my description of what I wanted to design a unique dress that mad me feel like a princess.
My makeup was done by the amazing Iris Gomez, I can recommend her to anyone!
I decided to buy a pair of shoes that I could wear again rather than something that I could only wear once. I bought a pair of killer heels from Aldo and they just looked amazing with the dress.
I wore pearl earrings that was a gift from my father one Christmas.
We got married at La Colline wedding venue in Port-Elizabeth. The venue, the food and the service before and on our wedding day was absolutely amazing! We couldn't have asked for better!
I looked after my skin by exfoliating twice a week and using a face mask once a week..I also made sure to drink lots of water. I enjoy training twice a week, my husband is Crossfit coach so he works out my training programs for me.
I did not go for teeth whitening but I did go for a few tanning sessions.
The décor and flowers were done by a family friend who went out of her way to make the flowers look amazing! We went to the florist about a month before the wedding to select the flowers I wanted for the wedding and we placed the order about two weeks before the wedding. I wanted my tablecloths, chair covers and bridesmaids dresses to be simplistic with vibrant colourful flowers.
Jarryd (my husband) bought a suit and had it tailored. The groomsmen hired waistcoats, shirts and bow-ties from Heinz in Style in Port Elizabeth
My bridesmaids whore beautiful bridesmaids dresses from Hoiden Bridesmaids. I was so happy with the outcome of the dresses! The colour was exactly what I was hoping for and the simplicity of the dresses complimented the bridemaids vibrant and colorful bouquets.

I designed all my stationary and invites myself. I am a photographer so I know my way around indesign and decided that it would be more cost effective to design everything myself.
