I joined a new Church and auditioned for the worship team.
The same week i was accepted into the worship team, we had a dinner at the Church for the whole team. I walked into the room and walked to the middle table, a gentleman sat on the right of me and i asked if the seat next to him was taken, to which his reply was "no, this seat is empty". I took the seat and i am now married to the gentleman.
Highlights of our wedding day :
1) Although it was a winter wedding, the sun was out and it was an overall beautiful day.
2) We were surrounded by friends and family that we loved and that was such a beautiful experience.
Yes, we went on the honeymoon of a lifetime.
Love is a celebration and we chose to celebrate our love in the truest way we could.
We went to New York for 3 days and stayed on Central Park.
The views were beautiful and the city was breathtaking.
We then flew to Redding, California and spent almost 3 weeks there.
We spent most of our time in Redding, California at a Church called 'Bethel'.
We attended the 'WorshipU Conference' which is basically a 2 week conference of fresh ways and ideas on worship.
We then flew over to San Francisco and then made the long journey back home to Johannesburg, South Africa.
My wedding look was classic / bohemian.
My hair was up in a bohemian styled braid, i didn't want extensions in my hair because i didn't want to have to deal with the aftermath of that. So because my hair is fine - opted for an updo and loved the braid to tie in the bohemian feel.
My make-up was classic \ bohemian too.
My wedding dress was a classic wedding dress, it had lace sleeves and a open lace back. I wore silver boots under my dress, which i was really happy about because as the evening came it got colder and it meant my toes were kept warm. Not to mention they were so much easier to walk in than heels on cobble and grass.
We got married at a place called : Bel Amour, some of our guests stayed the night at surrounding hotels and lodges.
Bel Amor is situated in Kameelfontein which is just outside of Pretoria. The views surrounding the venue were absolutely beautiful and so our guests took this as an opportunity to have a weekend getaway themselves.
Funnily enough, i had no beauty regime leading up to our wedding.
I wish i could say that i had one, but i generally just made sure that my hair, grooming and nail appointments were booked for 2 days before our wedding.
All the decor for the wedding was inspired by a classic \ bohemian styled wedding.
There was lots of grey, white and green.
