Bohemian and classic
Vintage and modern
A perfect blend to our perfect winter wedding
Our Honeymoon started with three nights at Boschendal, just around the corner from where we got married to relax first. Setting of for the best 11 days to Namibia, we hired a car and drove from Windhoek to Swakopmund. In Windhoek we stayed at a game camp which had no wifi, the start of our limited access to the outside world which was perfect! In Swakopmund our hotel with its inviting bathtub in front of a fire place that overlooked the ocean. Three days of exploring the area we set of to the best hidden gem, Wolwedans. It is in the middle of the Namib desert, overlooking red dunes with Oryxs passing by on their way to the nearby waterholes. Wifi again was only available in one small area, but why would you want to spend your time their if we could go horse back riding in the Namib desert. Incredible! This was by far the best four days ever.
Our journey continued down to Luderitz a quite small fishing town, with the best seafood and wine. Not only that but we were in the mood to explore, and that was were Kolmanskop came in, the ghost town. Our guest house was literally on the rock with an amazing ocean view again. From here a short flight back to Windhoek, where we spend our last night at a guest house on a private game farm with our last sunset in Namibia searching for the giraffes on a quadbike.
We are truly blessed.
I have my own unique style, maybe a bit different from the norm.
My beautiful wedding dress was made by Giuseppe (Joe) Spinelli, the bodice from Sophie Hallette lace with pearl and Swarovski crystals that I hand-beaded, the skirt is layers of soft silk chiffon.
My veil was created by Ms. V, when I asked for a 4meter plus veil they where as excited as I was. They even found similar lace and beading on the end of the veil.
My shoes is very different from the normal bridal shoes, I wore Steve Madden leather ankle boots. With hand knitted ankle warmers.
My jewellery was special, I bought earring for the wedding but ended up wearing ones that was a gift from my husband a while back, they matched my wedding ring perfectly. My mother made a beautiful pearl bracelet that matched the pearls on my dress.
My nails was done by Foxbox, they came to us the night before, and I selected my favourite colour for my nails, black, different but it matched my ring again.
As it was winter I had a shawl that was borrowed to me from my aunt, completing my different with touch of vintage look.
Getting married at Vondeling we were able to book the manor house for the weekend. The Friday night our mothers and wedding party (family and friends) stayed with us. Our last night as singles was spend chatting, braaing and enjoying the good wine with our close family and closes friends. On our wedding day Vondeling prepared the most incredible breakfast feast for us all.
Our wedding party also spend the night of the wedding at the venue.
Magical, romantic, soft light combined with colour and textures.
As a couple we are a mixture of Bohemian and classic. Flowers and foliage, a mixture of colour and textures combined with Rose gold himmeli, and candles. Random arrangements of various proteas and fynbos on the large rustic wooden tables as well as from the roof beams with Edison bulbs. The rustic wooden tables and ghost chairs complimented each other so well combines with rose gold cutlery and beaded proteas on name cards.
Our dance floor had our personal floor decal on with strings of lights overhead.
Dandy is the correct term, my now husband did all the styling for his groomsmen and him. Crisp white shirt, fitted jeans, a tailor made wool blend jacket with leather bow tie, suspenders and matching shoes.
His groomsmen wore wool jerseys and matching him with leather shoes and belts.
Being winter we went for wool jerseys with silk chiffon skirts and leather boots.
Instead normal bouquet they had ringlets which matched the groomsmen ringlet boutonnieres.
We had the most amazing photographers and videographers. Kikitography and White motion films.
They made the day so special, we selected them after so much searching. Their style is unique, while capturing all the moments in a magical way, not just the normal poses.
We choose to have a wedding planner but only for the week before to make sure we have done all and for on the day so that our family and friends can enjoy the day and not have to stand in and make sure everything runs in order. It was amazing to just let them handle the days running, and everything just ran smoothly.

Amazing South African tastes in a creative combination and presentation. Truly artistic.
Wedding cake was a gift from my sister (she bakes amazing cakes), using a family recipe for a naked carrot cake topped with salted caramel and fruit.
