How did our souls collide....
When a story starts with - one night in Amsterdam, it's surely to be the best story you have ever heard. We will not disappoint you.
From meeting each other by chance in Amsterdam on our Contiki trip, to sharing New years eve together in Germany, One new years eve kiss turned into sleeping on each other shoulders on the bus to sharing 3am talks before going to our rooms to shower to get back on the bus. A stroll through Austria's christmas market made us realise that we could possibly care more about each other than we think... It's only day 3 of our trip... Rynan must be a bigger sweet talker than Rentia thought... but before We knew it our last day in Paris arrived and saying bye was harder than we thought. Could it have been that we haven't slept for 48 hours..? Without any option, off to the airport Ren went.
It lasted 5 days without seeing each other and there Rynan was on Ren's doorstep once again :) So our adventures continued, from Clarens to Finland, Berlin to Paris, America to Thailand, Dubai and Cape town. Home wasn't a place anymore but a person. We found our very own serendipitous moment and have been living the fairy tale ever since.
On the 9th of April 2016 we decided on Forever... It started off with a heart wooden box left at my gate, with two pink roses in it and a note to pack a bag, we heading on another adventure.... We went on a canopy tour and a lunch stop at French toast. Afterward we checked into Forum Homini, where we got ready for our dinner. Rynan seemed very nervous during dinner, and I was not quite sure why... He kept shifting around in his seat, mine was quite comfortable thought it was possibly the champagne... Without realising his been sitting on a ring box the entire night! After dinner we strolled down the path to our room. Without knowing what will happen next i saw jam jars filled with red and blue fairy light. I still made the comment "Look how beautiful they made the walk way". When I opened the door to the room there was a heart shape on the floor out of rose pedals and a big frame with photos of us around the world. Rynan went on one knee and asked if we could share every adventure ahead together, in this life time and the next. Before he finished the sentence, I said YES!!
We went to Zambie for our honeymoon right after the wedding. Rynan has never seen Victoria Falls. What better sight to see and share a romantic holiday together in such a relaxing environment.
My Hair and make up was done by EA Academy. They are amazing at what they do to ensure you look absolutely flawless the entire day. My dress was bought from Bridal Wardrobe in Melrose arch. The dress I chose was part of the Demetrios collection. Its a striking beaded tulle, fit n flare gown with a sheer neckline and long sheer sleeves embellished with delicate hand beaded embroidery. The low keyhole back is finished with buttons and a Chapel length train. The wedding look I wanted was to be elegant and timeless. I wore french rose gold earrings and my lingerie was from Bra's and Things.
We celebrated our journey with our close family and friends at Avianto Estate on our magical wedding day. Majority of our guests stayed over the night of our wedding.
I started working on looking perfect for our wedding 7 months before the big day. I did a DNA test with doctor Lila Burke to get a detailed eating and fitness plan thats best suited for my body according to my DNA. I must admit it has been the best decision I have ever made.
We used Event's Inspirations for our decor as well as Red in Paris. Our theme was Rose Gold, Mint green and Coral. Due to meeting during our travels, we decided on having a travel theme for our wedding.
Our marriage officer was Stephen van Basten. I would recommend him to anyone for premarital counselling as well as marriage counselling. He made our day extra special.
Duck Soup Productions captured every moment of our special day. Eugene makes you feel comfortable in those awkward moments. We count ourselves lucky to have been able to share our day with them, and had them present to capture every moment. Its hard to capture an image where the picture speak to you with the emotion that it was captured with... Eugene has that gift to do exactly that.
Chef Johan from Avianto is excellent. We designed our own menu with Johan 2 months before the wedding with all the items we liked. They normally have menu's to select from, but we managed to be lucky enough to design our very own menu for our day. Rynan and I made our own wedding cake. Rynan was very close to his grandfather whom he use to spend time with baking Christmas cake every year. We used his Grandfather's secret recipe to bake our wedding cake in memory of Grandad Watson.
We did a Argentinian Tango for our first dance. We wanted something different and unique, completely out of the ordinary, it was so much fun. If We can do it all over again, without a doubt we will. Patula was our dancing instructor. She's absolutely amazing at what she does. Her passion for dancing is really admirable!
We had a guitarist playing during our cocktail hour to entertain our guests - Michael Plaxton Harrison. Not only is he a dear family friend but the most brilliant guitarist We have ever seen.
We used Blaste-Dj's to dance the night away.
