I would say that the highlight and memorable moments of our wedding day was ... the entire day! This is a day that we will always remember and treasure in our hearts.
We travelled through from Bloemfontein to Ballito. We stayed in the most amazing place , La Montagne .
I went for the look " less is more " . I am not one for too much makeup. My makeup was natural and I loved it. I decided to do curls with my very long hair, and had a hair piece on the side of my hair for the last touch and it looked amazing. My wedding dress, I nee exactly what I wanted. I wanted a mermaid style, lace, nice back and bling type of dress. It took me a while to say "yes to the dress", but I finally found "the one" . My shoes and jewelry I went for a bling but vintage look.
We got married at Tri Hunt Game Lodge, the place where he asked me to marry him. I wanted a "boere troue" and this place was perfect. Most of our guests did stay over for the night and we had breakfast the next morning with everyone that stayed the night before we left for our honeymoon.
Well, since it was winter, it was such a struggle to get up in the morning. Winter and I aren't friends. We did go to the gym now and then and we followed a healthy diet. I did not have any facials because I don't struggle with pimples. I did go for 4 sunbed sessions just to make sure that I dont blend in with my dress.
I wanted to use soft pastel colors, they already had white drapings and most of the fairy lights. The centre piece we use blocked shaped mirrors, candles, flowers and beads. I did not want too much flowers because why pay so much if its not goung to last long. So, I wanted more candles because it gives a beautiful effect. The bride table I wanted to stand out and be different, and it did. We had ice holders next to each side for our champagne. I did not want a cake because I feel it always just goes to waste, so I wanted cupcakes. Everything was perfect.
So, the groomsmen outfits was my husbands idea. My husband wore a blue suit, brown shoes, white shirt and a pink tie, where his groomsmen wore chino pants, white shirts, pink bows and brown shoes. This looked stunning. They bought most of it from Edgars, the pink bows we got at china town.
As I wanted pastel colours at my wedding, I wanted my bridesmaids to look different. Winter is always so dry and everything has no colors, so I decided they should bring some colour. They could each choose a colour they would like to wear, with beige colour shoes. They looked perfect.
Ds Wollie from NG Klipkerk Bloemfontein. I decided to use him because I have known him for a long time, and the message he leaves behind is amazing and powerful.
Hannetjie van Zyl was our photographer, she is amazing at was she does, she captured every special moment.
I did have a planner, my aunt, Zenobia. She is such an amazing person, she planned everything so perfect, she would ask me what I like, and she would do it... just much more better. My parents, family, cousin, everyone helped me .
I actually did not need any transport, but I did use one anyway. My husband asked his friend to lend his car (it made beautiful photos ) . It was a blue Audi RS3.
My father asked his friend to spit for us, Corrue Bruwer. My father supplied the sheep and they did the rest. As I mentioned before about me not wanting a cake, we had cupcakes. Noeleen Saunders is amazing. My husband loves chocolate, so we had chocolate cupcakes with stunnig glitter icing.
My aunt did everything, she printed our initials and our wedding date on white serviettes .
We had a DJ who did the sound and lights. My husband and I are naturals at dancing, so no dance lessons where needed .
