The most memorable moment was when we finally said "I do". That was the start to our forever after. The highlights were definitely when we got dressed & ready for action...although the nerves were getting a bit high. We had a beautiful ceremony and a lot of laughter & love!
Yes, we went to Mauritius! Absolutely beautiful beaches, landscapes and sea creatures. We explored the surrounding islands and enjoyed the sea cuisine and snorkelling...we also had a few history lesson about each island, and learned about their national bird...the Dodo!
We had a lot of fun and they taught us a few French words as well.
My wedding look was elegant & formal. My hair had curls in with small white flowers and a few diamond pins in. My make was a smokey eye look with red lipstick. My wedding dress was a ofd white slim fit corset dress covered in lace, and as my wedding was in the winter I settled for elegant boots that I bought from a Crocs outlet in Lynnwood...yes I said Crocs...but it was comfortable, lightweight and I dit not have to worry abour sore feet...it was absolutely a bliss to wear them...& warm too. My lingerie was only a lace panty...as my dress was a corset and no bra was needed. The only jewellery I wore was my bracelet and earings..and my husband suprised me with a Pandora necklace just before the wedding! The only other accessory I had was my veil and the small flowers we added to my hair.

We got married at thr most beautiful, rustic venue outside of Pretoria, called Mooiplaatsie Country Estate. There is a lake behind the chapel with swans in, also a lot of bunnies and llamas.
The key attraction for me was the rusted "old school" car in the garden.
There were accomodation available on the premises and most of our family stayed there as they came from far away destinations.
The few months leading up to my wedding...I did a bit of sun bed tanning, for my health & fitness I did Pole Fitness which was a great way to stay in shape. I had a facial and a back massage as any other treatments were uneccesary for me. I just ate well, avoided junk food and coffee.
My decor was a "rustic" vibe as we had rusted underplates, vintage chairs, wooden flower boxes with succulents inside ,and my flowers were proteas and al lot of succulent and greenery for the main table and for the guest table small boxes full of burgundy flowers and greenery as the centre piece.
We also had a tree made out of wire where we displayed our seating chart in the colours of our wedding. Which was Burgundy & Cream.
They wore stone coloured suites with white shirts and burgundy ties. We rented their suits from Eurosuits and they wore brown leather shoes. My husband also wore Batman cufflinks we bought from The Unbreakable Man online store.
My bridesmaids wore burgundy Infinity dresses made by one of my friends. I saw the idea on Pinterest as the dresses are practical and they could choose any style they wanted to wear it. The "boob tube" area was full of sequence and the dress was in a A-line style to promote the "flowiness" of the material.
The Original Infinity Dress can be worn 27 different ways, making it the perfect bridesmaid dress for all figures!
Our marriage officer was Jaco from Wed By Jaco. Who delivered a wonderful service that fitted our relationship and our journey together.
Our photographer was Zanita and her husband from Zanita van Staden Photography. They captured every special moment that day. We did no have an official photobooth...we used a corner at the venue with a piano and chairs with a stone background. I supplied my own props for the photobooth. Our guest loved the photobooth and we had al lot of fun.
No I had help from the venue staff ,my family and friends.
We stayed on the venue the night before the wedding and I borrowed a friend's BMW for transport to the chapel.
The Venue package included the meals for the night and my grandmother made my cake which consisted of a small cake on top with orchid flowers she made with petty nice and cupcakes with flowers made for each of them.
The cake flavour was a carrot cake and chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.
My sister designed and printed my stationary. We made the invitations and save the date cards ourself.
Yes we got dance lessons from a friend we work with who does ballroom dancing. But when the big moment came that night...we forgot all the steps she taught us, and we improvised. We hired a DJ to do the lighting and music, Gerrie & Jamie from Up A Tone Events
