Our love story is quite simple, God brought us together.
We met on a church camp in June 2016. I had my eye on him during the camp and soon developed a crush. I had no game and had no idea of how to let a guy know that I am interested in him. I still haven't figured this out, lucky for me it somehow worked out and we got married a year later in June 2017.
So the proposal was so unique and so mind blowing. I am a very suspicious person and can figure somethings out without anyone telling me a thing, so my now husband, Gavin, had a challenge.
We planned a getaway for my birthday to Struisbaai in the western Cape. This meant we had to fly to the nearest airport which is George. During the flight he went to the bathroom and never came back. Then the flight attended said I need to stand for a special announcement. Gavin started talking over the intercom but I could not make a word out of what he was saying. As he talked I started making my way to the front of the airplane where I found Gavin, after his speech he went on his knees and asked me to marry him. And of course I said YES. The cabin crew popped champagne and the pilot had a few special words to say. I still get goosebumps of this moment.
Every part of the wedding day was beyond special. I set out just to enjoy myself and take in every moment.
The most memorable was during the church ceremony where my groom could not take his eyes off of me. We giggle and whispered during the whole ceremony.

We went for a 'mini' honeymoon just after the wedding to Akabeko Hotel and Spa. Gavin arrange it and it was a surprise for me. The 5 star hotel in situated between Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Absolutely breathtaking.
We have booked our 'big' honeymoon for August, and will go to Phuket Thailand. We asked our guests to rather give money as a present than a present. We got exactly enough to pay for our Thailand trip.
I am a simple person and was also restricted by a budget. This meant not bothering with to much extra unnecessary stuff.
My dress was hard to find, as I wanted a dress that was designed in this era. I went to a few places that I can hire but was unsuccessful. A friend of mine google for me a few places and found Calegra. I went thought their online gallery and fell in love with almost every dress. Emailed them to know what is their price range and what does this one dress that I love costs. It was way out of my budget but they informed me of the sample sale they have that will be in my budget. I knew I wanted a dress that had sleeves and was comfortable and no with boning in the dress. So 'the' dress was found at Calegra.
Hair and makeup also had to be from this era, and with my capable makeup and hair artist achieve this.
Shoes was hard to find, as I wanted a wedge with closed toes in a nude or rose pink. After going through the whole of Menlyn I found a pair that was very close to want I had in mind at Sole, Kolonnade.
Earrings had to go with the lace on my dress and my hair style. Found a simple pair marked down at Kleins' from R500 to R100, bargain.
I did not fuss about the rest, my mother maid me a carter and lingerie I got at the bachelorettes.
Venue was so perfect to my style, all white with a English farm feel.
I did not really do anything out of the ordinary as I am happy with how I look.
