I stayed in Gauteng and my wonderful boss had a farm in the Northern Cape near Niekerkshoop, a very small town.
On Easter weekend in 2016 I went to visit my bosses farm and went for an unplanned braai at the neighbours.... then I met my husband. He is turning 40 in September, for both of us a huge blessing as this is the first marriage for both of us. I always new that I want to marry a farm boy, and so my dream came true.
One Monday morning after I knew he has the ring and asked the parents, he left for home when I left for work. He arranged with my landlord for a key as his plan was to return to the house after I left for work. He acted to pump the tyres when he turned into the garage and I passed on my way to the office. I had a dinner invite for the evening and he said I should call him when I leave work so that we can have our hour long evening chat so I can go out and have dinner. When I pitched at home, I opened the front door, not in the mood for dinner, feeling down as he has still not proposed, when I turned to go upstairs, I saw some blank papers on the wall at the staircase. I knew something was happening. As I went up, there were photo's, streamers, hearts, fairy lights etc......EVERYWHERE. I went until I could go no further and around the corner he was standing.
Small table with Sushi, candles and wine. I was crying and grabbed him around the neck. I had to step back and give him space to ask the bid question. Most beautiful words ever.
Everything looked exactly as I thought of it in my head. The party was a blast and everything else was just so special.
My husband came to the guesthouse where I got dressed and we prayed together before the ceremony.
We went to Hazyview and Pilgrims rest. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and went to the Kruger and Gods Window, enjoying Gods creation.
I would say that we had an 'old look' wedding. It was quite out of the ordinary. None of the table decorations looked the same. It was all different. From the flowers to the decoration. It was wooden tables with different chairs as well.
I had a lace wedding dress, winter... with open back. I have short hair, 2 colours, plum at the bottom and blonde on top - Love IT! Make up was done by my sister from another mother. She did a GREAT job. I had some of those Zellie shoes, some lace Woolworths panties. Handmade earrings specially for me by Liz Loubser Jewellers. I had a pearl bracelet that I got as a gift on my 21st.

We got married at Oppi-Koppi Guest Lodge in Kroonstad. WONDERFUL venue and great people. Most of the family and friends stayed there, the rest stayed at a few different guesthouses in town.
I did some teeth whitening at home. Exercised a lot to firm up and loose a bit of weight. Only about 5kg. On the Wednesday before the wedding, my sister from another mother who did the make up, she gave me a facial, did my nails, waxed the necessary places and did the make-up trail. It was a great spoil.

Décor was all kind of different house décor that I collected in my friends house whose venue it is. It was from wooden humans to wooden sheep and hearts and clocks and scales and candles. Glass Consol bottles painted with the flowers, packed in wooden boxes. It was a big hall with zinc roof and glass folding doors right around. Triangle flags hanged across the hall and ladders with small glass bottles with candles inside. There was a bid bonfire outside as it was in the middle of winter and on the wooden deck with a sunset view, there were 2 lounge suites and the desert was also served outside on the deck, packed out on old wooden cupboards.
The groom wore a grey suit from Black tie. The groomsmen wore grey pants and white shirts from Woolworths.
The bridesmaids wore Infinity dresses, one pink and one dove grey.
The Original Infinity Dress can be worn 27 different ways, making it the perfect bridesmaid dress for all figures!
Ds. Van Wyk Fischer from the NG Kerk Silvertonkruin in Pretoria. A good friend of mine.
All of the people at the wedding said that it was the most beautiful and meaningful wedding preach that they ever heard and that they will definitely remember it.

Human Photography assisted her.
She is such a wonderful person, getting so excited about certain pictures when she has taken them.
We grew up together, known her all her life - as she is a bit younger than me.
I really enjoyed her, so different in her work.
My best friend is a wedding planner and has their own venue, this is where we got married. She is excellent in her job, so friendly, made sure that I had no stress in planning or anything about the food. She arranged all of that and had it all planned. She was so excited for me and really made my wedding day a successful one.
I used my bosses old Mercedes Benz 300S as a wedding car.
He was the chauffeur to me and my dad. Really special.
My friend and her mother who's venue it is prepared the food. The wedding cake was a red velvet cake from Bidvest Food.
I did the design and printing myself.
The party was an absolute feast. We left at 03:30, there were 4 guests still left, but my feet could no more. The lights were fairy lights and a few of the DJ lights. We had a DJ, made really good music.
