Magical Moments

There were countless memories made and moments captured in our memory of our wedding day... hours of laughter, tears and happiness on our wedding day and throughout the wedding process... however the one word we think of when we think of our wedding day is GENUINE...

Our ceremony and reception filled with family and friends who supported our relationship and most importantly believed in our MARRIAGE. Family and friends laughter, echoed throughout the day and night, Grant and I shared our first dance as husband and wife with showering confetti and ultimately the GENUINE love, laughter and happiness that surrounded our wedding has been imprinted on us both.

Moments to treasure as the bride:
- Receiving a maple bonsai tree from Grant to represent our love, its growth and our future
- My reveal to my dad
- First dance and the way Grant looked at me

The Honeymoon

Yes;-) We went to Makanudu Island in the Maldives.

My Special Day

Initially there was no criteria or specifics for me. All I knew was that I wanted my hair up and my back open in my dress.

On the wedding day with all the support and professional suggestions I gave them these guidelines:
Hair: classic, vintage and up
Make up: matt finish and to make my eyes look bigger
My dress was made and created in front of me at each fitting inspired by lace and delicate hand stitched beading
My shoes were cut and glued by my mom and myself. We tried our best to create a bridal shoe (being a size two limits you;-))
Jewellery and accessories was my something old, something new and something blue to stick to tradition<3

Lingerie mostly a secret but crisp, lacey and white

The Venue

Galagos Country Estate
Cullinan

Our guests did spend the night. Some guests stayed on site at Galagos, others went across the road to another B&B called Liebencharm Guestfarm

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Leading up to the wedding I, went and had my hair highlighted early in that week and nails and feet done on the Thursday before the wedding.

Prior to THAT LAST WEEK, I had become conscious of the food I was eating, trying to live a healthier lifestyle and conscious of the way my dress will either enhance my body or hide it.

The Friday before the wedding I invited my mom along with me to a back, neck and shoulder message to say thank you for all the love, support and help she had given me. And of corse, as a stress relief for me ;-)

Wedding Elements

Our Decor was breathtaking...

Grant and myself wanted a room filled with greenery, lilies and peach roses. We incorporated wooden lanterns, pearls and moss on the majority of our tables. We had an exquisite flower chandelier, a breathtaking over hang and main table as well as a beautiful decor and beauty throughout our reception and ceremony.

The furniture we had was wrought iron tables and chairs, provided by the venue. The lighting we had was mostly fairy lights and candles to ensure a warm and cosy atmosphere.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Grant and his groomsman wore a navy blue suite that they purchased at Sedgars in Vereeniging, with a white top and brown shoes and belt.
Their ties were a representation of Grants heritage in Scotland brought from his dad (lives in Scotland)
Shoes and belt : Superbalist

All accessories the groomsmen purchased themselves.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore a coral infinity dress with a twist. Instead of the traditional infinity dress with all the length in the front we designed the dresses with a tulip front.

Debbie from iCandee made the dresses for us.

My Captured Moments

Nifty Studios captured our wedding day. Our photographers were a young couples who love and presence made Grant and myself comfortable and happy. We met them at the Emperors Palace Bridal show and met with them on a number of occasions before our wedding. We were lucky enough to have an album and parent Albums included in our packages but most importantly two people (Nadine and SP) to capture our day professionally, with passion and better then we could have ever asked for. Nadine and SP partied the night away with us , even when the cameras were down.

Patrick O' Reilly recorded our wedding as our videographer. Patrick typically does more corporate events although Grants mom had known and referred him to us as she worked with him for many years. Patrick is a gentle man whose etiquette and skill has encapsulated our day perfectly.

The photo corner was the company we used for our Photo Booth. As our thank you gifts we gave our guests a wooden frame for the fridge where their photo slipped in. Louw from The Photo Corner was kept busy whilst Grant and myself took photos with the photographers. This was an excellent way to keep our guests occupied between the ceremony and reception. The gift is still on many of our friends and family fridge when we walk into their homes.

The Wedding Planner

The Venue had a co-ordinator available to us from two weeks before our wedding day. Sam was efficient, caring, passionate and surpassed all our wishes. Sams hospitality and professionalism was amicable and much appreciated by both Grant and myself.

Wedding Transport

We were lucky enough to have our ceremony and reception on the same venue. We used our little chev utility to and from the wedding.

Food & Cake

Galagos provided an exceptional 3 course plated meal for the reception.

My aunt, Michelle created an amazing grooms cake (all made out of rolls of cheese). This was her and her families gift to Grant and I. She went above and beyond to ensure it was incredible. There were a variety of cheeses, breads, crackers, sauces and fruits included.

The cake was cut after the ceremony and eaten as canapés whilst we took photos.

Wedding Stationery

My darling friend, Demi from design.me.pretty

She was also one of my bridesmaids and so willingly designed everything we wanted. Grant and myself printed and cut all our stationery from our printer at home.

The Reception and Entertainment

YES, We most certainly took dance lessons. Grant often mentioned that he had as much rhythm as a rock. We went to three dance lessons where we became familiar with a few dance steps, comfortable in each others arms and even learnt how to do a twirl;-)

The sound and lighting was included in our package at Galagos. Eugene was our DJ and he kept the party rocking until 4 am.
