My husband had a crush on me when I was in Std. 6, in 1996 and he was in Matric. My mom being a school teacher was very strict and made it clear that I may not have any boyfriends until I finish school. Yet, he was persistent and sent me Valentines cards, roses and we had a very secret school romance going. At his matric ball we mastered a plan so that I can be at the event and we asked my cousin who was in Matric with him, to ask me to be his partner. The very day after he wrote his last matric exam, he moved to Cape town for an employment opportunity with the bank. As strange as this may sound, we lost total contact and I never saw him for 19 years. Even though he visited his family in our hometown and so did I on weekends and I lived and worked in Cape town, but we never bumped into each other. Until last year 12 July 2016, when he came to a meeting where my boss would also be attending. I was the personal assistant, so as he opened the door our eyes met and that what it, love at full glance again. This time, forever...... My husband was married 7 years ago, but had a divorce and had 2 kids from his marriage. I was a single mom of also 2 kids and never married. We now have our own beautiful, loving, blended, family which I have always dreamt of. We tied the knot on 20 May 2017, at In the Vine - Stellenbosch. This was our first day, in FOREVER....

My husband proposed to me at the One and Only hotel, Reuben's restaurant. He told me that he had to attend a marketing event and wanted me to join him, as his business partner was away on business. He also hinted the venue, so that I knew I had to dress up for the event. As we arrived at the One and Only the lady showed us to the restaurant and guided us up the stairs to a more excluded area which had a big round table. This is where I thought we would all be seated and assumed that we were rather early. Then someone blind folded me and led me up another staircase into the private glass wine cellar above the restaurant. There was a beautifully set table and for a candle lit dinner and a huge bunch of roses for me and my husband was sitting on his knees and proposed. My answer was without a doubt, YES!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!! The evening was beyond perfect and truly unforgettable. He captured my heart, my soul, my being.
Definitely, my walk down the aisle with my dad and seeing how emotional my man got when he saw me for the first time in my exquisite wedding dress. The blessings of our rings, by both our parents. Our kids who witnessed our union of marriage and all our close friends and family who were present to share our special day with us. The weather was absolutely perfect and this also truly made everything even more special.
No, unfortunately due to weddings being so costly we were unable to go away on honeymoon. However, we are saving for our first year anniversary to Mauritius, as both of us have always dreamt of a honeymoon on a tropical island.
My look was elegant, classy and also sexy. My dress complimented my shape and made me feel and look like a princess. My dress had the most exquisite lace, with a skin colored tule fabric for the top, which had an imaginary look and the bottom fabric was bridal satin, in a mermaid tail shape, which showed off my curves. My hair I coloured ombre, for a modern sophisticated look and had it curled and styled up to the side. The hairstyle itself made me look dreamy, romantic and classy. My hairpiece complimented my dress and my 'harper earings', which I won when I entered a competition on facebook of Pearl and Ivory. The lace detail on my dress was breathtaking, so I did not to steal its show by adding on too many accessories. My bouquet of flowers consisted of pink and cream roses with white ostrich feathers, which was put in a heart shape with crystal pins in the centre of the roses. My shoes were silver and very classy and comfortable. My lingerie was a strapless Wonderbra and I wore spanx.
We got married at In the Vine (Stellenbosch), our ceremony was outside in the open air at the back of the venue which overlooks the Helderberg slopes and our reception was inside the venue itself. We had 105 guests, but none of the guests stayed over.
I made sure I drank 3 litres of water a day for perfect skin. I went for regular facials, as I wanted my skin to be flawless. I also had a back neck and shoulder massage the day before my wedding, after that I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure.
The colour scheme was nude, dirty rose pink and duck egg blue and the men wore navy suites. We used alot of cream and pink roses with pennygum to create a romantic, elegant feel. The tables had crystal candelabras and two arrangements each, with white damask printed table cloths and silver tiffany chairs. There were hanging fairy lights in the ceiling and a hanging swing decorated with roses, above our main table.
They wore white shirts, navy suites and dusty pink ties.
My bridesmaids wore duck egg blue long shafon dresses with silver lace detail in the middle. The material was soft and flowly and draped, almost like a Grecian look and they had eternity wreaths in their hand made of pink roses and pennygum.

To the ceremony I drove in a silver Mercedes benz and for the couples photo session we had a white Range Rover Evogue.
La Dane Cakes made my wedding cake. In the Vine (the venue), their chef prepared our food and did all the catering.
For the ceremony we had a saxophonist, Cedric Baadjies and he created the most amazing atmosphere with his saxophone and serenading everyone outdoors. The evening for the reception, we had a dj known as DJ Marc Catt. No, we are both good dancers and we just rehearsed on our own.
