"When I used to read fairy tales, I never thought I would end up in the middle of one" - Alice in Wonderland.
Our love story began in 2008 when we were in matric (even though I had a huge crush on Ettienne in grade 8). We got engaged in 2015 and soon after that Ettienne left to continue his doctoral studies in Germany while I was placed in a little rural town in the Eastern Cape for my community service year (from where I planned our wedding). About a year and many skype calls later, we were finally together on the same continent again.
Finally our wedding day arrived and we stood in front of the altar on the most beautiful rose farm ready to start this exciting chapter in our lives. Everything looked magical and romantic with a picturesque view of the countryside and flowers everywhere. I was so excited that I practically ran down the aisle to meet my husband-to-be.
What a joyful day it was to have spent surrounded with family, friends and of course my favourite person.
