Our wedding day was marvelously special!
We aimed for intimate, memorable and naturally real. There isn't anything we would have done differently, even if we could.
From beginning to the end our wedding day was filled with love, laughter, serenity and joy...
Blessed-blessed day indeed xoxo
Yeeees.. on our way to Cape Town we saw the magnificent 'Augrabies Falls', stopped a night and enjoyed breakfast on 'Blouberg Strand' and of course we had to do a wine tour or two. Lovely.
We got married at 'The Hertford Country Hotel near Lanseria. Our family stayed over. This venue has a cottage and farm style look completely surrounded by green! We were so fortunate to have all the trees so lusciously green even-though the winter.
My bridal regime was pretty much al' natural, so no specific treatments or potions...
My sister, my mother and I did however use the wedding day as an excuse to enjoy calming massages and pedicures the day before. Always awesome!!
The venue is white from floor to ceiling and they provided gorgeous wooden tables. We draped the tables with a green runners and decorated with silver, white and a dash of burgundy.
We painted wooden boards with scriptures and love notes which was used in and around the venue just to give it all a personal touch. On both ends of the reception venue where two beautiful fire places for a cosy feeling and we had a lounge area behind the tables just to chill...
Although we didn't do much in terms of lighting, I did sing 'Nine Million Bicycles' before entering the chapel as I really wanted to give my husband something special he would always remember on our wedding day.
It also set the atmosphere of love, before the I do's!
The photographer is a close friend of ours. Hannes Roodt captured our most intimate moments so splendidly and now we can share them with all the world. He is a talent of note with an eagle eye!
We didn't do a wedding cake. Instead we had RedVelvet cupcakes individually boxed with a note as a takeaway gift. Figured that most people are stuffed after dessert a takeaway cupcake would do just fine!
We had them made at Mr. Salad in Harties. As for decoration and thank you notes... well that was DIY efforts, making it all the more special with our love ones in mind!
DIY at home!
