Jandre and I started dating in school. He was my first boyfriend. We have been together for 9 years now and I'm so happy that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.
We got married at Eensgezind farm (just outside Durbanville in the Western Cape). We went for a elegant feel - with mostly white and crystal. We brought colour is through the bridesmaids dresses and flowers.
Our wedding day was the most blessed day we have ever had. So many friends and family helped us out in so many ways that none of this would even be possible if it wasn't for them.
We started chatting on mxit (when mxit was still a thing). A few months went by of non stop conversations when we decided to meet each other. We started dating after the first day we met. This year April we have been together for 9 years.
We got engaged in September 2016. I have been nagging him forever to take me to Darling. I really wanted to see all the pretty flowers. We drove around searching for some nice places to take pictures. We got to this one farm where there was so many tiny white flowers. There was also a windmill and he told me to go stand by the windmill so he can take a picture of me. We started walking and I kept telling him to try and not step on little flowers. He kept following me - I was like "You can't be to close for the photo". He would just say nothing. When we got to the windmill and I turned around he was on his knee. I honestly can not remember what he said to me. We laughed and cried and took some photos before going for a nice lunch to celebrate. That evening I found out he aranged a braai for all our close friends and family.
Yes, we went to Knysna.
My look was elegant but yet simple. I didnt want to many things. I also did'nt spend alot of money on certain things.

I did'nt have to rent anything for my wedding. Eensgezind is amazing in helping wherever they can. I wanted my wedding to be all white except for the flowers and bridesmaid dresses. This was a deep red colour. We had long tables with the flowers as the runner. Alot of candles and thats it. I did'nt want to many things on the tables. I was going for elegant and classic.
The groom and groomsmen wore a black tuxedo. These were rented at Mr Suit Hire. The ties were made by the same lady who made the bridesmaid dresses.
I had two bridesmaids. The wore a long infinity dress in a deep red colour. I had them made and the ladies could wear it however they wanted.

Melissa Naude from Melissa Naude Photography was our photographer. She is amazing. She recommended an engagement shoot to get more comfortable with her and in front of the camera. I came to her with ideas and she would be honest with me wheter she thinks it will work or not. On the day she kept reminding me of all these photos that I wanted (and forgot about). We are really impressed with her.
