Our wedding day couldn't have been more perfect! Everything went down so smoothly. Just being surrounded by all our friends and family made our special day so memorable!

For our honeymoon, we spent seven days at the beautiful Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa in Mauritius. This was the perfect choice and I would go back any day! We spent hours on the beach, enjoyed quite a few cocktails and explored the island and all the adventures it had to offer.
When we came back, we took our two chow chow dog babies to Highlands Giants in Lydenburg for a mini South african honeymoon filled with red wine and hours of good conversation around a cosy fireplace.
It was quite difficult to find a dress that suited my personality and body type. The first dress I loved was the one I ended up wearing in the end. A huge thanks to Emily at Bride&Co. Rivonia for all her help and patience, trying it on many times before actually buying it. I wanted to look like my natural myself and not somebody else, so I kept my hair the way I liked it. Loose curls during the day and a bit clipped a way during the evening. My kind friend Carla did all the bridesmaids hair as a wedding gift! Thank you Carla!
Sarah Swoon was our make up artist. It was a romatic style with natural touches and soft pink lips. We all looked absolutely stunning, she did a great job! Thank you Sarah.
I was important to me to feel comfortable on the wedding day as there is enough to worry about already, you don't want to worry about painful feet, so I wore soft pink pumps that tied in with my bouquet. I am so glad that i made the desicion to not wear heels! The jewelery I had on was drop earings with swarovski crystals from Lovisa and of coarse my wedding ring! So all-in-all we had a easy, comfortable and geniune look on our wedding day. We were just ourselves,the way we are :-)
We got married at the amazing Oxbow Country Estate,a beautiful oasis of serenity in Bronkhostspruit. My husband and I fell in love with the venue as we walked in on our site visit day and our minds were made up within minutes. The venue is very private which was a must for the both of us. The venue has a gorgeous reception hall which did not need a lot of decoration as it is beautifully natural and stylish already. Outside we had beautiful green lawns with a view of spectacular clear watered fly-fishing dams, and large shaded areas underneath tall trees. It is absolutely a stunning venue.
The venue has plenty of space for guests to sleep over and all the rooms are stunning. Most of our family and friends spent the night and had a delicious breakfast with us the next morning.

Leading up to the wedding, I went to the gym atleast three times a week, ate healthy food and drank plenty of water. I also went for some facial treatments and body treatments at Needleless to Say in Atterbury boulevard.
A glass of wine and plenty of sleep helped a lot with all the wedding planning stress.
For the flowers, we wanted a look to suit our style. We wanted a bit of vintage but also classy and clean. So we only used glass vases and the flowers were different kind of proteas complimented by a touch of greenery.
Our complimentary colour on the tables was duck egg blue, which we used for the runners and all of the stationary. Different types of glass candle holders were also used which looked beautifull when the lights were dimmed.
My mother-in-law, Gerda, also bought some extra proteas from a farm, which was used for the detail decorations everywhere. From the flowers on the table plan to the flowers on our wedding cake. The small decorations really just sealed up the complete look and feel for our big day, so a big thanks to Gerda, Franci and the rest of the family that helped for all the hard work!
Frankco knew from the start what he wanted to wear and sorted all the mens clothes out, from suits to socks. They wore light grey suits, clear white shirts and vintage tan leather shoes which he found at woolworths in Sandton. Franko's cousin Gert (one of the groomsmen) Made tanned leather belts and armbands for all of the guys to wear which complimented the leather shoes. Their ties were a darker shade of grey and colourfull Happy Socks created a playfull atmosphere and some great photos. The men looked so handsome and stylish!
As our wedding was in the winter, I wanted to include warm colours with my bridesmaids. So they ended up wearing gorgeous plum maxi dresses that we found at YDE. These dresses were so flattering on all the differnet body types and complimented each girl. The plum colour choice tied in perfectly with our protea flower decorations.
Both my sisters and my niece, Nino, Celest and Ané, were beautiful flowergirls, wearing dark navy maxi dresses. The plum and the navy worked perfect together with our colour scheme.
We got married by a family friend and campus leader of the Doxa Deo lyttleton church, Jaques van wyk. I have known Jaques for years and he truly made our day special. He honestly made us feel at home.
Amy Wolland from As Sweet As Images captured our day perfectly! She is such a fun photographer to work with and made us all laugh throughout the day. She is absolutely amazing in what she does and always does effort for that perfect shot. We were completely comfortable with her and that's why all our photos turned out so natural, just like we are. The final product that was delivered to us, was stunning. Inside a beautifull little box she placed a personalised letter, some printed photos and a usb with low resolution and high resolution photos. It was packaged beautifully with a lot of effort and style. Thank you so much Amy for making our day perfect and capturing the special moments that will stay with us forever.
Roelan Grabie was our wedding coordinator from Oxbow. Roelan made everything work out perfectly on our special day.It was smooth sailing thaks to him. He was part of the planning from the start, giving us great advice and support on all our ideas. On the day he was the main man! From taking care of the bridal and groom parties to accommodating all our guests and suppliers. He is just AMAZING! Thank you Roelan!

Most people drove there and slept over at the venue.
As the rooms of the venue were filled by family and friend,s we organised a small bus to chauffeur people to a close by guest house, bringing them back the next day.
My now Mother-in-law, Gerda, made our beautifull wedding cake. We ordered different cheese rolls from Van Gaalen Cheese farm and she decorated the different stacks of cheese wheels of the tower with all kinds of fruits and marmelades. It was absolutely devine! After we cut the cake, the venue prepared cheese platters for all our guests to enjoy. Everybody loved the cheese plates, with some wine, olives, nuts and more.
Oxbow Country Estate's kitchen is amazing! It was definitely the best food I have ever had. Not only did it taste like something out of this world, the presentation was a masterclass! For starters we served Springbok Carpaccio filled with cream cheese. For mains we served two dishes on one plate...Rack of lamb with garlic mash and Pork belly with butternut and cream spinash.This all plated in proportionately on one plate .We really recommend the pork belly to anyone that loves a delicious german meal! Then we plated three deserts to end the night off – Cheesecake, fruit pavlova and Strawberry souffle.this all to give our guests a taste of what the chef had to offer .The food was definitaly one of the main highlights of our special day and we had only compliments.

I am a desktop publisher, so I made all our stationary myself and printed it on beautifull white stardream paper that we found at Paper Café in Rosebank. I also made up all the boxes for the groomsman gifts as well as the bridesmaids gifts which was personalised for all our special friends.
We had a beautifull live Blues/Jazz band (NEL) that created a stunning atmosphere while guests where enjoying a Champagne/Nougat and Brandy/Chocolate paring. Getting Nelmarie Rabie and her team for the live music was a must as my husband and I are huge music lovers and wanted to give the wedding a specific feel - only music can do that!
We practised our wedding dance in our living room probably 5 times before the wedding night and everything went smooth on the wedding night - amazing what a couple of glasses of wine can do - wink wink.
For the reception music, we used Cream Cheese Professional DJs. Paul knows exactly what he is doing and kept the dance floor full until the last song. I have never seen a wedding where so many guests danced the night through!
Our wedding turned out to be one huge celebration and everyone is still talking about the music and the song choices we made.
