Saturday 29 April 2017 – for most people this was just another weekend to relax… for me it was the most exciting & happiest day of my life!!! I married my best friend, the most amazing man I know and I get to call him my husband. Our day was filled with lots of love and happiness. Family and friends from far and near joined us in witnessing our promise to each other, to spend the rest of our lives together. The weather was perfect. We had the most beautiful ceremony led by Ds Danie Matthee. A great photographer, Gavin Gouws and his team who made our day so easy with much laughter. The Tramways Building was beautifully decorated, a team effort thanks to family and friends. The food was delicious! Awesome wedding vibes, and we all had so much fun! My bridesmaids looked stunning and the groomsmen looked so handsome... My husband Johan Smit looked as always so attractive, full of smiles and tears of happiness. In short our wedding day was perfect! All glory to God.
A few days after our wedding I was surprised with my first island trip to Mauritius. The 4hour flight from O.R. Tambo felt like forever because I was so excited. We were welcomed by the Coin de Mere staff and our entire stay was fun, relaxing and romantic.
My wedding look was elegant and classic. My friend and the owner of Millionhairs did my makeup and hair. I had my something blue, something borrowed and something new. Something blue was my garter, something borrowed the pearl earrings that my aunt borrowed me and something new my pearl necklace. I love my wedding dress, it was the first dress that I tried on and I went back and bought it a few days afterwards. The detail and off white colour is absolutely beautiful and suited me perfectly.
We got married at the Pearson Street Congregational Church in Port Elizabeth. Our reception was held at the Old Tramways Building, a revamped beautiful historical building. Our guests from far spend the night at the beach front.
I went for a massage, manicure & pedicure a few days before the wedding and had my nails done by a friend with her own beauty salon – Majestic Salon of beauty.
Our wedding décor was old and rustic with a modern twist. My artistic mother in law did the beautiful flower arrangements and Centre pieces consisting of Protea’s and Rock roses. The wooden tables and soft lighting gave the perfect romantic atmosphere.
My husband and the groomsmen looked handsome with their navy, white and cream colours.
My beautiful bridesmaids wore navy infinity dresses made by Chocolates for breakfast in Walmer, Port Elizabeth. They each were able to wear the dress the way they felt comfortable in.

The talented Gavin Gouws and his team captured our special day. Gavin is very professional and a pleasure to have at your wedding, as he brightens up your day.
Our special day was planned by ourselves as we wanted the day to be unique and special. We had assistance from our parents.
My oldest brother drove the brides car and my uncle the bridesmaids car. I appreciate their patience during the photo shoot.
A family member, Charl Gerber made the most delicious spit braai and we had more than enough food for seconds! My mom who bakes for 30 years, made our beautiful wedding cake.
We had a wedding newspaper made by Fraaimeraai designs in Nelspruit.
We had a DJ and live music. DJ Botes and the talented Cuan G who entertained us the entire evening. Our first dance as Mr & Mrs was danced to the beautiful song – Power of Love by Jennifer Rush.
