Our wedding day was our version of a fairy tale. People have said it before but until you have experienced a day that is dedicated to your love for your partner, to the declaration of joining of your lives to one another in front of all your family and favorite humans, until then, you will not understand the true magic that a real fairy tale is all about.
I will never forget walking up the isle in the dress of my dreams to Christina Perri's, A thousand Years. With a stomach full of butterflies & a quivering lip, I made my way through the forest of beautiful pine trees. Two majestic South African Lipizzaner Stallions flanked and escorted me through the trees to the point where I linked arms with my mom & smiled down at a picture of my late dad. We were all there together in that moment. As I looked up & waved to all our friends and family, my heart filled with excitement. When I locked eyes with Gareth, my partner of ten years and dashing husband-to-be, my lip stopped quivering, the butterflies settled and it felt like all things fell into place. The rest was magic & the beginning of our story.

We went to Mauritius for 10 days and stayed at Preskil Beach Resort. It was the most incredible trip.
Our Wedding theme was that of a natural & classic romance with a South African influence. A truely beautiful, soft and elegant look was achieved for our day which embodied a truly beautiful celebration of our love and commitment to each other.

Andrie from Marilyn Makeup Artistry did a stunning job of my hair and makeup. The pearl earrings were a gift from my mom and the matching bracelet was a gift from my hubby-to-be on the day. My something blue was a heart-shaped piece of material cut from one my late fathers t-shirts & sewn onto the inside of my dresses bodice. Heart to heart, so he was with me on my special day.

We were engaged at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and are both passionate about our countries natural environment, so the flowers we incorporated were proteas & fynbos. To reduce our carbon footprint, we used a wedding website, petal confetti and rock rose plants as guest favors that i grew myself. Our colours were a muted soft green, taupe and soft protea pink. The tables were named after places that have significance to Gareth and I.
Gareth wore a navy suit, dark brown shoes & belt with a tie and pocket square that matched my dress. He looked so dashing and smart. His Best man Jako also wore a navy suit with a tie that matched the soft green of his wife and my Maid of Honour Claires dress.
My Maid of Honour Claire, wore a soft muted green infinity dress with soft curls in her hair and proteas in her bouquet.

Rev. Stephen van Basten was our marriage officer and he was amazing. He counselled us before the wedding & assisted us in customizing the ceremony to suit us. His wit and charm made for a meaningful ,light hearted and fun ceremony on the day.
Our photographer was Rianka and her husband Flores from Riankas Wedding Photography. They were both incredible and added so much to our day. Rianka was like a second bridesmaid on the day. Her professionalism, warmth and talent resulted in some truly incredible memories for us to keep forever.
The talented Quinton from Motswako visual media was our Videographer, he was amazing and put together a production we will cherish forever.
Gareth dressed at the venue and I dressed at the lovely Kamma Frans Guest House. My maternal grandparents drove myself and my mom to the venue in their BMW, but the ride was less about the car and more about the fact that they were so proud to drive me.
Lavandou put on an impressive spread for us. My grandmother made us a traditional fruit cake which was skillfully iced and framed by tiers up cupcakes and macrons baked by the talented Caron from the Sweet Bake Shop in Boksburg.
Gareth and I went for dance lessons, which doubled up as an opportunity to test what we had learned in the couples counselling sessions with rev. Steven. But we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had wonderful instructors at Fred Astaire Pretoria East, thank you Nicolene and Shaun.
Our first dance was to Tale as Old as Time by Peabo Bryson & Celine Dion. Yes Im a disney girl and we had to seal the deal with some cliche, but timeless romance.
We partied the night away with all our loved ones.
