We got married at Morgenzon Estate in Wonderboom, Pretoria, covered with large lawns & trees with a Cape Dutch character it created the perfect atmosphere for our perfect day.
The theme of our wedding was rustic with dusty pinks and purples to bring a pop of colour to the wedding. We wanted to complement the venue’s Cape winelands vibe with natural colours and a rustic feeling to warm up the venue. We used wine barrels for the most magnificent flower arrangements and for welcome drinks.
We did our, I do's in their beautiful chapel with its gothic lead glass windows and antique copper bell. As I was approaching the chapel with my father by my side, I felt the butterflies as the DJ played a Thousand Years from Christina Perri. After my bridal party walked in the chapel they closed the doors and the bell rang 7 times before we walked in the chapel. When I saw my husband in front of the chapel proud and with tears in his eyes, I just could not stop smiling our day has finally arrived.
We had a beautiful ceremony, with tears of joy and laughter from family and friends, and before you knew it, we were husband and wife – and we sealed it with a kiss.
After the ceremony we had our photo session, keeping our guests busy we had in Glamcam where all guest took couples, family and friend group photos, which they could take home as their thank you gifts. Morgenzon served Rooster Koek, with cheese, jams and biltong as a little snack with welcoming drinks.
Our reception was a WOW to walk into, our venue and décor was meant-to-be as the rustic wine cellar-look reception hall, overlooking the landscaped garden complemented my natural and rustic theme décor.
We had the most amazing time with our guests, the food was amazing. Our speeches was one to remember, did not take too long but the touching stories from brothers and friends was the most special words spoken that night.
We truly have the most amazing family and friends, there was not a moment that the dance floor was empty – we all kicked off our shoes and danced until midnight. We selected a special song between all our friends for our last dance – Piano Man from Billy Joel- we could not believe that this was the last song of the night, we all stood next to each other and created a BIG circle and we sang our hearts out!
We planned every single detail a year in advance just could not wait for our big day, and just like that all the hard work came to an end. We got our perfect wedding and more, thanks to family and friends, and our dreams came true on the 22nd of April 2017.
