The highlight of our wedding was definitely the river running through the wedding venue. Our guests loved it and took so many selfies.
We also decided to kneel in church which was very special to me.
Yes, we travelled locally. :)
To Kwazulu Natal - Mavela Game Lodge and Western Cape - Hartenbos/George/Mosselbay
I did not really have a ''theme'' for my wedding.
I just went for a natural overall look.
My hair was done by Marilie at Colour Gallery in Brits, North West.
Make-up was done by Melissa Minne Bridal.
Wedding dress was bought at Eurobride, Pretoria.
Shoes - ballerina flats bought at Woolworths.
Lingerie - white lace - Cotton On.
Jewellery - Sterns.
We got married just outside Brits, North West at Altyd Goed Wedding and Function Venue.
It has a very rustic, bushveld feel and we immediately fell in love with the venue.
There is accommodation available for your entourage and guest if you prefer.
If I remember correctly a total of 22 people can sleep over at the venue.
None. :)
I just didn't have the time nor money to do all of those extra things.
Paying for the wedding is expensive already. DON'T let anyone tell you what else you SHOULD do before the big day. Do what you can afford.
In the chapel we had white draping hanging from the ceiling that Softlight Decor did for us together with red and pink Proteas hanging on the side of the chapel benches.
Softlight decor also did the entire ceiling in the main hall with fairy lights as well as the outside patio. I couldn't believe how much fairly lights contributes to making a venue more romantic.
On the tables we had a burlap runner with candles and a wooden box with Proteas, rots-rosies (succulents) and other finer leaves in. (The venue arranged all the table and flower decorations)
The groom and groomsmen all wore the same outfit.
Chino pants bought at Edgars for R300.00 per pair.
Their own choice of shoes and a normal white collar shirt.
My bridesmaids bought their dresses at Gelique in Pretoria. They chose the design them self for I would like them to wear it again sometime in the future and actually like the dress. :) The colour was rose gold and a light pink.
They wore shoes that where comfortable for them.
At Gelique we believe that your bridesmaids should look stunning and feel gorgeous on your big day!
Ryno Hurn from NG Krokodilrevier, Brits.
We used Michele Anne Photography to take all our wedding photos.
She alters the price to fit your budget and makes one feel so comfortable.
WE LOVED HER.
My mom and mother-in-law helped A LOT !! The wedding venue owner also handles everything from flowers to decor to food so there was minimal stress.
I walked from the room I got dressed in to the chapel. Again - budget.
The venue prepared our all you can eat buffet which included snacks, dinner and pudding.
We decided not to have a wedding cake as most of the guest forget there is one and we really didn't feel like going home with a box full of cake - so we went to Brits's Pick and Pay...
They baked fresh donuts on our wedding day that we had all over the counters.
The guest liked it so much, myself and my husband never even got to taste them...
Colleen from Lieflingkind Designs in Polokwane.
Her prices are just...affordable, she goes to so much trouble to make sure you are happy and ... our wedding invites ... where BEAUTIFUL.
The sound was done by our DJ from Cliff's disco. They made sure we had a really really really good time.
