Our wedding was the best beginning we could ask for.
We did most of the decor ourselves, so very early that morning both my husband and I and all our bridesmaids and groomsmen along with family went to the venue to start setting up.
One of my favorite and most memorable memories of this day was the moment my dad helped me out of the car and started walking me towards the chapel. I never thought that having my dad next to me would be a possibility, that alone was one of my biggest blessings.
We started walking and once my brothers opened those doors and Riaan stood at the other end of the isle with eyes all teared up I realized for the first time that this is it, THAT is my husband waiting for me!
I have waited so long for him and he was and is more than I ever expected.
During our ceremony we received so many blessings and the message by our very dear friend was incredibly special.
This day spent with all our closest family and friends from afar certainly was and will always be the best day of our lives.
Both Riaan and I started with new jobs just before our wedding so going on a very long and far honeymoon was a little difficult due to time. And on top of that we got married on a Monday.
My in laws blessed us with an unforgettable week in the Drakensberg.
Both of us have never been there and that was one of the places that's on my bucket list.
We traveled all along the Drakensberg in that week, sightseeing and visiting many different locations.
As a newly wed couple it was a holiday we would trade for nothing and would want to go over and over again.
I wanted a very natural look. Not too much and not too little. Mercia from IShadow hair & Make up did a fantastic job on giving me just that.

I wanted a simplistic wedding, but still elegant. Our venue already gave us all that; fairy lights, big and rustic (yet elegant) chandeliers and a touch of old; so we did not need too much.
I decided on white, dusty pink, and grey with some greenery as my main focus for flowers, invites and any stationary.
We had a variety of flowers, but roses was the main flower throughout.
Our chapel was a big frame built by the venue surrounded with trees. We decorated it with flowers and rose petals.
The groomsmen all wore grey suits, with white shirts and black shoes.
And they had to add their very bright pink and turquoise socks.
My bridesmaids all had the opportunity to choose a dress they felt most comfortable in. Together we picked the same color and material for all three of them and that would compliment both them and the wedding colors. Their dresses was all designed and made by Peaches and Spice.
My flowergirl wanted a dusty pink dress right from the start and we were fortunate enough to have her dress designed by Shoe box Kids.
Our wedding officer is a very close friend of my husband and they go way back. Reinart Van Zyl is a true mentor and friend to Riaan and I and it was such a privilege and honor to have him part of our ceremony.

My father in law has a 1972 Alva Julia and I absolutely fell in love with the little car since I saw it the first time.
My husband is an absolute car fanatic and that is why we thought it would be fitting to use this timeless classic.
